I think the bolded was his only gaffe. By using "his country", he's extrapolating Walz' record in MN to the U.S., because he's on the national ballot this November, not just a state ballot. I don't see any issues with the last statement. Their anti-crime record sucks and that was his point. These types of articles are written for the low-information voter. Btw... thread aged well.
