    The Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be held at the magnificent Aviva Stadium, built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road stadium, which was demolished in 2007. It is home to the Irish Rugby Football Union and the Football Association of Ireland.

    College football in Ireland began initially in 1988 as part of a promotional campaign to mark the Dublin millennium celebrations. Dubbed the Emerald Isle Classic, it was the first NCAA-sanctioned American college football game played in Europe. The game was played at Lansdowne Road in Dublin in 1988 with a crowd of 42,524 in attendance. It featured a 2–7 Boston College team who defeated the 8–1 Army Black Knights 38–24.

    The game was intended as an annual event to attract some of the 40 million Americans of Irish descent back to Ireland. College teams with particularly Irish or Catholic background were chosen in an effort to attract Irish nationals to the games.

    Losing to GT in 2020 at home.

    I get it. I really do.

    But the flip side is how would you like to face - and beat - an undefeated FSU team on NOV. 3oth - last game of the regular season....a    la 1997?

    For me....that would MUCH sweeter than beating an FSU team that is not undefeated.

    Of course, this doesn't mean I won't be pulling for Tech.......just another POV to consider.....;)

    Good point.

    But to answer your question - sure why not? Imagine how fired up our team would be at the prospect of ruining FSU's undefeated season.

    Anyway......

    We come from a different history as Gator fans. See, I grew up a 15 minute drive from their campus as a die hard Gator. My youth was spent having to listen to any asshat (and there were many) that wanted to verbally attack a kid for supporting their own team. I have twice had to physically defend myself for wearing orange and blue before turning 18. And while normal fans of ours point to people like crab man as the best examples of how dirty that program was, I know of far worse examples in which payoffs kept the media in the dark. So no, I hope they never win anything again and the program goes the way of Suwanee College. ;) There is a very short list of things I loathe more than that program, and all of those entail prison or death for those that commit those items. We are both Gators, but we are not all the same.

    We want FSU to lose every game they play!
    A losing season...every year!
    Whyyyyyy?
    Recruiting!
    Even though the Gators beat the Nolies and the Criminoles go 11-1...
    They can still walk into a high school recruit's home with strength and pride.
    NOT SO when they are 4-7 or 5-6, etc.
    We want FSU to be beaten and be an embarrassment to anyone who follows them.
    We NEVER want the Nolies to have a winning record.
    NEVER!

    Nope! Because if they are undefeated and lose to UF they still get in the playoffs with 1 loss.
    They still can recruit off of a 1 loss record. I'd rather see them at the end of the season a beaten and defeated team with little fight in them and barely getting the attention of 3 star players.
