2024 Picks Panel Rules and Roll Call

Hey gang, it’s time for the 2024 Picks Panel !

The 13th Annual “This-Is-Why-You-Don't-Bet-On-College-Football” Learning Experience!

Here are the rules this year, which are identical to last year…


1. The 2024 Picks Panel will consist of 16 weeks, the 14-week SEC regular season, conference championships and one “week” consisting of the bowl games.

2. Each panelist will start the season with 1000 points.

3. Each week there will be ten games to choose from. The schedule will consist of SEC games with published point spreads. If there are not ten such games available in a given week, then games involving top-25 teams from other conferences will be included.

4. Each week, each panelist must bet a combined minimum of 100 points on any combination of games they wish. The combined total of a panelist’s bets may not exceed their current point total. It is not necessary to place a bet on every game of that week’s schedule.

5. If a panelist has less than 100 points, they must bet their entire total.

6. A successful wager against the spread will be paid out 9 points for every 10 points bet.

7. If a panelist’s point total reaches zero, THEY ARE FINISHED FOR THE SEASON.

8. All picks will be due Saturday noon Eastern Time each week UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. The time stamp will determine when picks are submitted. 12:00pm is on time. 12:01 or later will not be accepted.

9. A panelist who fails to make any bets in a given week or is late submitting picks will lose 100 points that week. If a panelist fails to make any bets for two consecutive weeks they will be removed from the panel.

10. The panelist with the most points at the end of the sixteen weeks will be crowned champion.

I don't know why folks panic every year. I always wait until ten days before the season starts before I post anything. Every year...

 

Vegas has us winning 4 or 5 games this year. While I believe we will do better than that, the schedule is too tough to hope for any better than 7-5, and I'm not entirely sold on the right side of the OLine at this point...
