Until it's confirmed as authentic I have my doubts. The most recent post on Facebook by John Kolb was dated November 11, 2022. While it could be authentic it could also be from someone else who created a FB account using the name and profile of the real John Kolb. This is the post.

I think that Walz backed off on the statement. In any event trying to use the stolen valor argument is still going to fail considering that the candidate heading the Republican ticket manipulated the system with a little help from his father to completely avoid any military service. Said it before, the overwhelming majority of individuals incensed over Walz's admittedly inaccurate statements wouldn't vote for the Harris/Walz ticket under any circumstances. She could have selected a winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor as her running mate and they would still be casting their votes for the pathological liar who avoided service himself and disparaged Americans who did serve.

If this is true this isn't a good look at all.

He’s a fraud. I’m not sure why some are trying to defend him, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Biden did a lot of this same type of stuff in the 1980’s and they pushed him to the top. Why would I expect anything less for Walz?

Walz actually was in Afghanistan as a congressman. So maybe there was no attempt to deceive

Veterans in House and Senate condemn Walz’s ‘stolen valor’

More than half of the veterans in the House and Senate slammed Democratic running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) on Wednesday for lying about his military career in what critics call a classic case of “stolen valor.”

In a three-page memo put out by the Trump-Vance campaign, 50 veterans demanded an apology and explanation from Walz, who lied about being in combat and his rank at retirement.

“You have violated the trust of our brothers and sisters in arms. Their blood, sweat, and sacrifice are the only reason our nation is able to exist. Until you admit you lied to them, there is no way you can be trusted to serve as vice president,” the veterans said. "You have lied your way through a political career launched on the foundation of a title you did not earn and combat deployments you did not take part in."

Wow. A list of republican trump supporting politician veterans post a memo critical of Walz on Trump Vance letterhead. This is shocking indeed.

Adam Kinzinger, a republican has a different opinion.

Adam Kinzinger Attacks Trump, Vance in Fox News Column

“The attacks on Walz have proven to be not only false but also disgusting,” Kinzinger wrote on the Fox News website. “I will debunk the attacks that have been floating around. But first, keep one thing in mind: Donald Trump not only didn’t serve in the military, but he actively avoided service by claiming he had ‘bone spurs’—a diagnosis he received from a doctor who rented his office from Trump’s father Fred that the doctor’s daughter later called a ‘favor.’ Trump has spent his political career denigrating veterans.”
Kinzinger went on to debunk two false claims at the center of the controversy — that Walz abruptly left the service after learning of his deployment (he filed retirement papers well before his unit’s deployment), and that he did not attain the rank of Command Sergeant Major. (His rank was reduced because he did not serve long enough to retire in it.)

The CNN commentator closed out his Fox News column by flat out calling Trump a “draft dodger.”

“The attacks from anyone, especially Donald Trump, are a disservice not just to Gov. Walz but to anyone who served in uniform,” Kinzinger wrote. “Now, any military member thinking of running for office could be dissuaded because who knows how any part of your military record could be twisted or distorted to make your service look less than honorable…Serving in the military is honorable and must be seen as such, regardless of the veteran’s party affiliation. Donald Trump, a draft-dodger, doesn’t come even close to measuring up to Tim Walz and his decades of service to this nation. JD Vance should know better.”

You must have missed the part where it said more than half of the veterans in the House and Senate signed on for this letter. To sit here and act as if what Walz did is cool is a slap in the face to veterans. I know that doesn't bother you, but they do risk their lives for our safety. It's not something that should be used for personal gain. It's a service.

About half of the house and senate are republicans. So am I shocked trump supporting republican veterans in congress attacked the Democratic VP candidate, and basically lie about it? No, not at all.

    Nice try though.

They're Republicans first, veterans second. If honor really mattered to them there is no way that they could support the candidate at the top of their own ticket considering the way he avoided service and his disdain for veterans. As I stated in another post the term "stolen valor" has a very specific meaning, it refers to someone falsely claiming that he was awarded a decoration for valor in combat like the Silver Star or the Bronze Star or even the Combat Infantryman's badge. Tim Walz made no such a claim. In a single speech on the issue of banning assault weapons he made a misleading statement that he participated in combat. He never made the claim in his bio or in any campaign literature or ads. While he should probably admit the error if he hasn't done so already and apologize the charge of "stolen valor" is absurd on its face.
