Could Tank Hawkins be this year's Tre Wilson? If so, he needs to move up the list of receivers to get his chance to shine on game day, because he's currently not in the starting line up. The starting group of receivers is pretty much set, and yet he's not one of them. He keeps making great plays in practice, and he just happens to be the fastest man on the team. Maybe Napier and his staff need to give Hawkins some plays specifically for him. Will Napier ever install a 10 personnel set on offense? This would be a great year to implement that personnel with this many talented receivers getting backlogged. Speed is what we need at the receiver position, and Tank Hawkins is just waiting to showcase his speed for the Florida Gators on game day... like in practice. I know I, for one, would love to see what he can do in game one against Miami. Florida Football: Need For Speed We have pointed out Hawkins's speed several times here at Hail Florida Hail. As a junior in high school, Hawkins ran 10.37 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Had he chosen to focus on track, Hawkins could have been recruited to be on Florida's track team rather than its football team. At last Saturday's scrimmage, Hawkins unleashed his speed for two touchdowns, including a long bomb from DJ Lagway into the arms of Hawkins. Florida Football freshman Tank Hawkins keeps having his name pop up during camp
He's looking good. Maybe Callaway will get some input on multiple receivers. If the Oline is solid then play calling may loosen up.
When Billy said, Badger(our experienced and talented transfer) was not really standing out yet and he could finally start to see his talent in practice #5, it was clear, we gots some dudes.
I also think he could help this year. Hope he gets some special team runs like returning kicks too. Heck, like Rainey maybe even punt block team. Worst case - have him spell Wilson and run the same plays that you did for freshman season Wilson with jet sweeps and pop passes.
But will any be sidelined for blocking not being up to par? If they block to Billy's standards that will make a big difference.
I have been quietly following "Caden Jones" since Billy pulled him out of Louisiana, certainly has the size, looks like big Caden is pushing for some PT on the Offensive Line this year from what I am hearing.
There are only so many James' and Toney's that have that kind of balance and juking ability. I will be very satisfied if he puts that speed to good use, which is way above James and Toney.
Don't forget to bring along a little bail money, not that I know anything about that kind stuff. Just like a random suggestion...kinda.
