Off topic, but they showed Barrack’s DNC speech from 2004 for the 20th anniversary. While I still think Romney would have been the best President of my lifetime, wow. Obama’s speech laying out the foundation for his historic run a few years before it occurred was incredible. I’d love to have Obama v. Romney again.

This was written about at The Hill this morning, nicely done.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/483646...ce-donald-trump-mike-pence-jan-6-dnc-remarks/

“Pence has now joined more than two dozen officials from Donald Trump’s own administration in denouncing him, an historical record, and Pence is the first vice president in more than two centuries not to support the president he served with in a general election,” Raskin said.

“And by the way, JD Vance, do you understand why there was a sudden job opening for running mate on the GOP ticket? They tried to kill your predecessor,” he continued. “They tried to kill him because he would not follow Trump’s plan to destroy and nullify the votes of millions of Americans.”

It’s really remarkable that Trump is allowed to even run for President when the facts are pointed out so bluntly like that.

The crimes committed that day should be up there with Treason and Murder. There isn’t 100% proof (just very good evidence) that Trump’s narcissism led to him wanting to hang Mike Pence for denying Trump his unjustified validation. Really hoping for a proper trial in addition to the senate committee regarding Jan 6th. We all have eyes and ears, but with time you almost forget just how horrible that day was because of all the other horrible shit Trump does.

Let's take a moment to examine your common knee jerk reaction.

The argument seems to go like this: Republicans who criticize trump are labeled as RINOs. This implies that only those who do not criticize trump can be considered true Republicans. If that's the case, then loyalty to a single individual (trump) becomes the defining characteristic of Republican identity, rather than adherence to any set of principles or policies.

This is not typical of a healthy political group, where members are usually free to disagree, debate, and criticize leadership without being ostracized. Instead, it resembles the behavior observed in cults. In a cult, absolute loyalty to the leader is demanded, and any dissent is met with rejection or expulsion from the group.

In political terms, labeling any critic as a 'RINO' essentially creates a purity test based on personal loyalty rather than ideological alignment. You are silencing debate and enforcing conformity, which are cult dynamics. Every time you whip out this particular ad hominem, you are screaming "I am a cult member". Is that your goal?

Addendum: Kinzinger served six terms in the House with campaign support from the RNC, earning his place on the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Foreign Affairs... not minor positions. His selection was a reflection of trust and responsibility by Republican leaders. Despite his consistent policies, he was labeled a 'RINO' after criticizing trump following the events of January 6th. This raises the question: Did the Republican Party misjudge Kinzinger for 12 years, or is the term 'RINO' now being used to stigmatize those who dissent?

The DNC’s target audience is crystal clear after watching one day. Target “double haters” like me that don’t like either option, but recognize, objectively, that Trump is the only vote that is anti-American and cultish. Double haters were 20-25% of the population when Biden was still on the ticket and are down to 6-10% with Kamala, but will absolutely vote based solely on what they view as the least bad option. I disagree with many of Kamala’s policies but she doesn’t have a disorder driving every decision she makes that has the potential to tear the nation’s most important ideals apart.

The other cohort they are targeting are lower class white voters in the rust belt which is crystal clear with all the anti-corporate non-sense they are promoting.

My bet is that the strategy wins (bigly) for the Democrats. They get those two blocks (plus some pissed off upper middle class housewifes) plus the traditional democratic base, it’s over.

Oh, I think he knows that. The target audience is pretty obvious with that list he posted. The low-information, Trump-is-Satan voter.

Just out of curiosity how many times was Biden mention during the first night of the RNC? And by the way this is the from the first night of the RNC:
    • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that “hundreds of thousands of American-born workers lost their jobs these past few years” under Democrats, ignoring that, on net, employment of native-born workers increased under President Joe Biden.
    • Sen. Katie Britt said that under Biden, Americans have the “tough choice” of choosing “which second job to take just to pay the bills,” and she suggested that wasn’t the case under former President Donald Trump. As a share of the employed population, the percentage of people working multiple jobs under Biden is nearly identical to what it was under Trump.
    • A rule proposed by the Biden administration in 2023 would prohibit blanket bans on transgender athletes, but contrary to claims made by Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. John James, the rule would allow exceptions for competitive fairness, particularly for high school and college sports teams.
    • Sen. Marsha Blackburn incorrectly claimed that the Trump-era tax cut was “the largest tax cut in American history.” She claimed Biden would “let them expire,” but the president has vowed not to raise taxes on those earning less than $400,000.
    • A few speakers wrongly said that the U.S. had the “greatest” or “strongest” economy under Trump, as the former president himself has often said.
    • Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Rep. Byron Donalds said inflation had been “unleashed” or “created” by the Biden administration. Economists say the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic is the primary culprit for higher inflation.
    • Greene misleadingly claimed that the “establishment in Washington … gave us Transgender Visibility Day on Easter Sunday.” For years, the day has been on March 31, which also happened to be Easter this year.
    • Blackburn misleadingly claimed that Democrats hired “85,000 new IRS agents to harass hard-working Americans.” Most of those hires would replace outgoing workers and be in customer service, government officials said.

They have so much respect for Joe Biden that not only did he not get a PrimeTime spot, but he went on at almost midnight on the first day.
