0-10-1 my first year in Gainesville as a student Went to every game Every time the stadium was packed and the fans were cheering for our team
With this schedule, I’m going in with zero expectations. Each win, if it happens, will feel like conquering the world.
I think we can win 7/8 games. IF the defense improves just 20 percent the line manages just a 10-20 percent increase we have the athletes to win games. Playcalling (the timing of the playcalling … the feel for the game) has got to improve. Hoping Callaway can give us a boost there. But 7 or 8 games is not out of reach.
From Hail Florida Hail in reference to the questions on the right side of the OL: The pessimistic side is sending alarm bells that less than two weeks before having to take the field for real, the offensive line isn't settled. But if there is reason for optimism, it's that a high-quality recruit from the class of 2023 is developing on schedule and might be the answer for the offensive line in 2024.
Correct and I wasn’t at UF in 1979. My point was that we packed the house back in the 70s even though it would be 15 more years before we would win an official championship of any kind.
You cant have Kool-Aid and Cheetos without a healthy orange snack like Circus Peanuts. If there was ever anything to turn nice calm kids to absolutely sugar crazy insane it would be Circus Peanuts. Worst ingredient list ever on that Circus Peanut bag.
Except that 1979 was Charley's first year. He burned down the barn to get rid of the rats, and was rewarded with the biggest turnaround in history, I think, and it would have been 9-3 if Lindsay Scott didn't break free...grrr. But you're right, Florida fans were always enthusiastic supporters, long before we considered SEC and MNCs to be our Divine Right.
Shane Mathews said the schedule is what it is. Embrace each game and play them one at a time. I tend to agree!
