    I remember something about urban giving credit for Mullen keeping the foot on the gas when florida played fsu in the rain in Tallahassee. Urban wanted to go conservative and Mullen talked him off the ledge and kept to the game plan. One huge benefit of having a dedicated OC in my opinion. I hope to never see another timid 3rd quarter game plan like we saw against Tennessee last year. Napier himself admitted he shouldn't have done so.

    Correct me if I am wrong, but don't most experts suggest when "safeties" are the leading tacklers that is a strong indicator of a "poor" defense?
    UF has certainly proven that adage is true the last three years. Certainly hope that IS NOT the case in 2024.

    indeed that’s the general rule of thumb and sadly….I was thinking…when the last time we had great safety play? Castell was solid and he got the goods, but dang was Marcus Maye back in 2016 the last time we had a top tier safety???

    2017- 2022 we had a combo of Stiner, Brad Stewart, Trey Dean, Shawn Davis, Torrence, Kamari Wilson, McMillian, Miguel Mitchell.

    none of them are on an NFL 53 man roster, not even close
