I would argue that if this is your position, the public also didn’t “need [your] opinion on Walz”, either. You chose to give it, and I’m calling into question your hypocrisy on not speaking up on this issue, even when prompted.
So to be clear, anytime that Donald Trump says something offensive about the military, I am required to come on here and say that it is offensive because I commented on Walz's service record? Are there any other topics I am require to respond to? I am required to respond in the Ukraine thread every time Trump or Walz say something about that now as well? Walz's service record and Donald Trump's comments are not related. The only way you can think that they are is if you believe that anything that hurts Democrats helps Trump. There is a lot of faulty logic in that belief.
You are not accurately representing our conversation. I asked you what your opinions were on the specific subject. I did not say you are required to give opinions on all Trump military disrespect because of your Walz comments. Instead of simply giving an answer, you started explaining why you gave your opinion on Walz.
It is completely accurate. You are trying to say that since I commented on Walz' service record, you are now free to drag me into any thread where Trump says something offensive about the military and demand I comment on it. I suggest you reconsider that argument.
Your absence was noteworthy, considering the soapbox you stood upon with regard to Walz. I was curious what your thoughts were on this subject. We still aren’t talking about what you think about it, we are talking about how you feel. So, let’s forget about this tangential discussion, and get to the real topic. What are your feelings about how Trump characterized the Medal of Honor and how he compared it to the Medal of Freedom. Also, what are your thoughts on what he said about recipients being in bad shape compared to the Medal of Freedom?
So again, I'm required to post on thread you think I am absent from? Am I required to check the Too Hot main board every day to see what threads there are that @murphree_hall thinks I should be commenting on based on my past posts? Or just the ones that you want to drag me into? I suggest some reading comprehension. If you are actually reading my posts you can see my thoughts about Trump's comments.
You are not required to do anything. I am simply asking your opinion. This isn’t about what you are required or not required to do. Obviously, I have no power or authority to demand anything from you. So, that aside… do you have any views on the Trump statement we are discussing?
I'm glad we settled that. I've already stated what my thoughts are on Trump's comments in my responses to you in this thread. Not sure how you have missed them.
We didn't really need to settle it, because it was a straw man. I never said you were required to do anything. But, you didn't really state your thoughts on Trump's comments. All I've seen in this thread was a statement or two to the effect of you asking, "Am I required to comment each time Trump says anything offensive towards the military?" It seems that you are implying that he said something offensive here, but it's not 100% clear. What I would like to hear is your actual thoughts on what he said on this specific topic. Your comment was more of a general statement that could be applied to a myriad of previous Trump statements.
Yes, you clearly did. You clearly stated that my absence was "noteworthy" and you were calling into question my "hypocrisy" for not commenting on it. That sounds like you think I am required to post on this topic. You even @ me on this thread to ensure I did. If you go back and read all of my comments you will see my actual thoughts. I'd recommend looking on page 4 of this thread.
Trump's personal dispute or issue with one other person that was in the military was just that... a personal issue. That part of Trump's shortcomings are very well understood by me, and I have addressed his imperfections on numerous occasions, 93. So don't come here and accuse ME OF SOMETHING YOU ARE UNAWARE OF... Try to be more diplomatic about discourse. I think Walz is a straight-up communist asset... lying POS... valor stealing joke. I would never say such honestly vial things to you, because that would not be diplomatic of me, and you are not running for office... But Walz is fair game.
That was me being diplomatic. If I said what I really thought about trump and the people that support him, I would be perma banned from this site.
Yeah, you say that about a 24 year veteran, while you shill for a guy who dodged the damn draft by having his dad bribe a doctor to give a fake diagnosis of BONE SPURS. Maybe you should reflect on your opinions on issues like this.
His actions in civilian life has nothing to do with his military career... even if he was a hero. The stolen valor is on him, not me.
There is no stolen valor no matter how much you and the right want to make it a thing. Walz is destroying your guys’ campaign currently and it’s hilarious to watch it unfold and the subsequent meltdown by the right. None of these weak attacks you guys are lobbing at them are coming close to even making a dent in his popularity, please continue to do it.
Your post made me wonder how many presidents have been in the military. Turns out 29 out of 46. More than half of those 29 were before 1900. The most recent president to serve in the military was George W. Bush.
Something I often think about. I view the role of CiC as the most important part of the presidency, but I am obviously biased. The president certainly shouldn't denigrate the military. For GW, if I remember correctly, an aviator rescued by a submarine. Near and dear to my heart.
LOL. "Stolen valor" coming from a person who has never lifted a finger to do anything for this country. More LOL at "vial" things. More "valor stealing" from the perpetual spectator.
