he is a polarizing figure but no one can argue he is unqualified or stupid. He had kinda taken his foot off the gas after 15 years in the position and he let some things slip before he left (which I had complained about in the past) but he will for sure clean up Central admin coming in hot and rested and with fuchs back in charge as well - whether those of us on campus like his changes is another matter all together but he will for sure take control of that shit show.
Glad to see a National publication (Esquire) at least give this news item a blip today. The original Alligator article came out Monday. Personally think the original piece is a pretty good piece of investigative journalism, especially in light of all the stonewalling by the University. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. But I’m not going to hold my breath. Will we ever see what any of them did for their hundreds of thousands in salary? I doubt it. Grifters gonna grift. At least unless and until we hold those in power accountable for letting them get away with it. The whole process for how Sasse was selected for the job in the first place was a joke.
those rankings were in spite of, not because of, Sasse. It takes years for decisions to reflect through to the rankings
Consider in the us news and world report rankings (the big one right now it seems) that 20-25% is based on the opinions of higher Ed experts averaged over 5 years. So it takes a while for rankings to shift.
