    He still supports UF

His criticisms here are very well known. Mullen mismanaged him completely. We all agree there.

It was Billy’s first year and he didn’t mold his O around AR at all. He was building for the future. This was obvious to all.

    S&C problems are well documented

Let’s not forget we just lost our highest rated d and O player to transfer.

It’s all water under the bridge. 2024 is all that matters

That isn’t his fault. Mullen badly mismanaged the QB situation. Given what was happening with Mullen it’s likely AR wasn’t even getting proper training. Mullen literally got fired.

So clearly you cant blame AR for his first two years

Then it was Billy’s first year. First years rarely go well (remember Leak, Grossman, etc). And it’s well known Billy was building for the future. He was installing his O and not catering to talent. That was likely the right move, but again not ARs fault

And obviously you can’t blame S&C on the players

It’s just inappropriate to say a player was a waste for no fault of their own.

Was Driskel, Brissett, and Trask wastes?

I have no issue with AR lobbing insults at coaching or play calling. Blaming his hamstring injury on S&C at UF when this commonly occurs to elite NFL players, well, that's just Shaqtin' a Fool.

NFL's Scientific Advisory Board awards $4M in research funding on hamstring injuries

It was a huge wasted opportunity for both AR and UF. Unfortunate

Our S&C has been a punching bag for years. It’s impossible to determine cause and effect but it’s not surprising anyone would pile on
I agree. We’ve been bad for 15 years with arguably top 10 talent in the NFL. Lots and lots of players have been wasted

Too freaking rational, and I agree.

But it's still sad that AR brought it to light for the world to see... he didn't have to shine a light on that.

So, when he did the dance move on the table and pulled his hammy, that was coaching right?

Nah you took it too far. Try to stay on topic Matt. The AR situation was a waste of great talent. To morph that into the notion that we’ve squandered years of top 10 NFL talent is laughable and serving a different agenda.

We all have the right to free speech, but it's not a question if they could, but if they should and that goes for any former player/coach. If SOS wants to say negative things about UF, I would be the first to censor him and I think he's he's the best coach we've ever had. Urbie: STFU. Mullen: ditto

I was thinking the same thing. I think he is trying to do damage control for his career, but it isn't a good look to always point fingers and not look inward on what he could have done better.

I thought folks revered SOS for his blunt “tell it like it is,” shoot from the hip, don’t care who gets offended persona. I guess it’s only when he’s talking spicy about other teams.

We’ve literally won nothing of note in 15 years and have had top 10 NFL talent. We’ve had many really good players on very mediocre Florida teams.

Coach Mullen waited until the Georgia game to give AR his first start. From the beginning of the year onward, many of us knew the Emory Jones could not cut it as a QB. It almost seemed to me at that time that by Mullen waiting until Georgia to give AR his first start, Mullen knew the odds of success were miniscule and he could validate his own opinion (that EJ was the man) to the gator nation with the failed experiment of putting AR as the starter.
Had Mullen started AR earlier in the year, the season outcome might have been different... We all knew that CDM was going down with the ship on his commitment to EJ.
In that respect i agree that AR was totally mishandled and his talents weren't capitalized on.

If SOS said something negative about UF you should be concerned. The guy is 100% UF Gator and with his knowledge of football and how the program should be run to succeed Id absolutely take a respectful back seat to his opinion. Sensor him because I thought I knew more about coaching or cared about UF than him?I doubt anyone on here knows a tenth of what a great like Spurrier does...I bet the guy could pick up this team right now and maybe with a few struggles early find a way to beat some of our heavy weight teams like Georgia before the year was over. One of the best play callers of all time period.

Everybody respects Spurrier’s opinion, and there are certain people he should give it to and all these nimrod’s on social media are not who he should be talking to about it. You keep your dirty laundry in the house

Well the best thing about this post is you can’t be proven wrong. So go ahead and claim a whole bunch of other opinions that can’t be proven wrong.
