You seem to take the MAGA position that this all about someone who wants to cheat or get an edge, that's kind of disappointing. Like you think someone would go through all that just so they could be better? I think that's kind of ridiculous. I dont know why people assume bad faith on her part, even if there's a case as to why she should be disqualified.

So AGAIN. What's your solution? All athletes have to pass hormone tests prior to approval for competition? Sorry, but "she looks like a man" isn't going to pass legal muster. So, in lieu of baying at the moon (which you MAGA guys seem addicted to), why don't you give us a workable solution that can past legal muster in a rules-based society.

Needless to say, I won't be holding my breath here.

Yeah, because the evidence is right there in front of you. If Michael Phelps decides he identifies as a woman, do we let him get in the pool and deny Ledecky? If so, why? So he can have a sense of personal validation? Even if Thomas was sincere in her intent, its obvious - even to Thomas - that this is inherently unfair. You'd have to be insane not to see that, especially if you were embedded in the culture for most of your life. It's not different, really, than Ledecky being able to compete in Juniors and steal titles from 12yos.

These are adult women who have voluntarily entered and trained in a sport where you get hit all the time competing under the same rules, but of course it all comes down to misogynistic patriarchal bullshit.

Why do you have to turn to hypotheticals to make your case? Like I said, as much as you are pushing back against the MAGA people, you are still sort of taking their underlying notion of men disguising themselves as women as some kind of thing people might or want to do and running with it. I dont think anyone thinks Michael Phelps could take a little estrogen grow his hair out and be allowed to compete with women in some kind of sanctioned event. That's just ridiculous, and is just lazy to make an argument out of.

I think anyone with XY chromosomes shouldn't compete in the Olympics. Not going to affect but maybe a handful of athletes anyway.

I don't know what the motive was, but the result is patently unfair. Given that Thomas had been involved heavily in swimming culture since age 5, you would think that would be obvious to her. Given that swimmers are obsessed with times, you would think she could see the unfair advantage. But who knows, I'm not in her head.

That said, it was handled perfectly IMO. FINA stepped in and made sure it wouldn't happen again and, IMO, the governing bodies are the best suited to make this call.

But, "shhhhh", don't tell MAGA. They're still posting Thomas memes, even though she been barred from competition in female events for over 2 years. Emotions and Rhetoric baby! Gotta love it!!!!

If it hadn't been for Riley speaking up, along with MAGA, Thomas would never have been barred. The fact Thomas made it as far as he did, being able to change in women's locker rooms and compete against them, speaks to an acquiescing governing body. The governing body only changed positions after Riley Gaines was being chased off of university campuses by angry mobs trying to hurt her. Do you really think FINA would have stepped in if Gaines hadn't brought attention to this the way she did? Progressives are the party of controlled speech, thought policing and censorship. Congratulations.

So we could have avoided all these stupid trans threads if people kept their mouths shut and didnt get obsessed with things they never cared about until someone told them to get mad? Sounds like MAGA is the villain here, maybe these "mobs" were on to something.

Handled perfectly? Thomas won an NCAA title at the expense of other women. That was in no way "handled perfectly".

They blatantly lie about this topic, because it makes Democrats look very bad and they know it.

His use of the phrase "handled perfectly" was referring to the decision prohibiting Thomas from competing against women in the future. He acknowledged that Thomas should have never been permitted to compete against female swimmers in the first place.

STFU. Riley had ZERO to do with it. FINA obviously monitors the NCAA's given how many Olympians will be in the field and the results were shocking. Go back to your grifting fools at Outkick and stop wasting people's time. Riley Gaines. . . Give me a bleepin' break!

That's what Thomas did. And all one had to do was look at the difference in times to see that she would have a massive advantage against women. In this case, virtue signaling won out. . . until it didn't (FINA decision).

Never should've gotten that far, but the NCAA screwed those women for the sake of being "LGBTQ friendly". That's the issue.

So, no men should compete in the Olympics? Hmm. Odd take to be sure.

Fair point. The NCAA bowed, but FINA looked at the results (Thomas dominating World Class women) and made it right. And did so very quickly. Sorry Riley Grifter Gaines, you had nothing to do with that.
