By: Eric Fawcett -- July 22, 2024 Over the last two weeks the European Under-20 Championship took place which was an opportunity to see two young Florida point guards compete in a pivotal competition against top-level talent. Urban Klavzar was competing for Slovenia and Kajus Kublickas played for Lithuania, two basketball-crazed countries who were going up against countries with much higher populations. One of them already has a "one". I am thinking both will be getting paid to play but at what level is still a question.
watching Urban play against a lengthy French team, that is maybe as close to seeing how he will play against length and size in the SEC. In short, he has so much in his toolkit to counter lengthy defenders, whether it's getting his 3 off, driving and scoring on floaters, getting to the rim or pulling up for bank shots....he has it all. His superior ball-handling and step-backs allow him to create enough space, even against guys half a foot taller than him. One of the benefits of being only 6'1 is that he's had to find ways to be effective against taller players - and he clearly has
maybe just based on who we have back and the fact that on this side of the pond he's not yet a proven commodity, but he definitely has the skillset to get some playing time
In order of playing time, he has Clayton, Richard, Martin, Condon, Alexis, Haugh, Chinyelu, Brown, Aberdeen and Rioux. He has Clayton scoring 18.4 ppg to lead the team.
hard to take that seriously if they think rioux will get more minutes than klavzar and I seriously doubt brown will be above Aberdeen...
The fact that he has Rioux playing ahead of Urban makes me question his sanity or he's lazy and just using an AI to come up with these lists
I don’t know what system he is using, but Rioux and Urban won’t be competing against each other for playing time.
Yep. From what I've seen Ollie will get some playing time this season against scrub teams but very little outside that. I'm good with that; I can't wait to see the young man get on the court. Also from what I've seen, it will be hard to keep Urban off the court. He's ready and he'll challenge the guys ahead of him.
Your link no longer workee and I do not see anything official on Floridagators.com . Perhaps they jumped the gun?
