Okee: No takers -- you aren't particularly interested in honest answers.
The entire board knows all you'll do is refute & demean (rinse, repeat.)

This thread is about newest POLLING data, in case you misunderstood.

What specifically excites me is that she’s not Donald Trump and she can win.

Great, so there's actually nothing redeeming or exciting about the candidate Kamala Harris herself. It's just that she's not Donald Trump. Got it. If it was Nicolas Maduro at the top of the Dem ticket, would you say the same? I mean, after all, he's not Trump. It's an honest question. Harris was rated to the left of Bernie Sanders in the Senate. Bernie was rejected in 2016 and 2020 by a majority of Democrats, because his views were too radical. So I am just trying to figure out what's important to you. A lot of us aren't happy with Trump's personality, including myself in some cases, but by all accounts the way he'd govern is by far superior for American interests than Kamala Harris. This is a woman who many top Democrats were ready to toss overboard just a few months ago. She wasn't Trump then either, so I am just curious.

At the risk of sounding like an underemployed philosopher, there is no such thing as good or bad except in context. What is the greatest move in chess? It’s an impossible question, as the utility of any move is predicated on the location of the other pieces.

So too is Harris’ value determined. That she is young(er) and new might be her main assets right now. It is true that both are necessarily fleeting traits, but that doesn’t make them any less real. When asked what attracts people to Trump, answers often include the appointment of conservative justices and that he fights. It may then be noted that the first would be true of any Republican and the second is true of many democrats. While both of these criticisms are true, they never change the mind of any Trump supporter. The bottom line is that the reality of support need not be connected to the rationality of the support.

Oh, it doesn't "need" to be, clearly. The polls show us that. But it "should" and that's the point.

I don’t disagree, but if rationality were paramount, Trump wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of any ticket either, so the problem is a lot bigger than Harris.

Silver bumped Harris”s lead to 3.1% in the national polls today. That is exactly equal to the biggest lead Trump had on Biden post debate…

Think about that. Harris is kicking Trump’s ass as bad as Trump was kicking Biden’s ass back when everyone was telling Biden to quit the race.

I'm going to go with +3, just because she is more unknown ... Nothing happened at the RNC that was new or different to anyone.

Tend to agree with unimportant, but I've heard there will be some Pubs speaking to support Harris which could be good for another 1 or 2 percentages. Optimistic, I know.

Updated. Anyone notice a trend? Still do not think that Harris can flip the state but it's becoming close enough so that Trump will have to spend time and resources defending his lead. He can longer take it for granted.

If he has to spend in GA, FL, AZ and OMG.. TX it will be an uphill climb for Trump. However, one thing he is an absolute master of is 'free publicity' under the premise, no news is bad news.

The problem for Trump and he obviously doesn't realize it is that while members of his cult probably love it when he makes bat shit crazy statements those voters voting for Harris simply because she is not Trump will be further incentivized to do so.
