Stop comparing this to WWII. So not analogous in any way.

Anyone who doesn’t want to see Israel finish Hamas off is pro Hamas. Anyone who is promoting a ceasefire is pro Hamas. Muslims are like a broken record. They attack only civilian targets. Then play victim to the world when they scurry like vermin to hide amongst and behind their women and children. The media and leftists feel sorry for them and shame whoever (mostly Israel) has had enough of their crap into backing off with a “ceasefire”. A ceasefire to Muslims is only one thing; an opportunity to regroup, rearm, and attack again. How many times does this have to repeat before their supporters wake up??

If Israel and Netanyahu was as evil as many here proclaim, they would be carpet bombing Gaza with thousands of cheap 500 unguided bombs. They are using smart bombs and missiles that are in the six and seven digit cost.

Because WWII was a global affair that involved 70 countries. Nazi Germany and the Japanese presented an immediate and direct existential threat to all the allied forces.

Hamas is a terrorist organization who presents no real sustained militaristic threat to Israel.

    It’s simply not analogous.

The post 9/11 wars are a much better comparison.

Don't you think if there was a way for Israel to achieve a military victory over terrorists groups, Israel would've accomplished it by now? And not have decade after decade of war against the PLO and now Hamas?

A ceasefire is time for Hamas to regroup. But every bomb that kills civilians is a chance for Hamas to recruit. There's no military victory possible. A ceasefire at least gives peace a chance.

In an average year, Israel suffers approximately 50 civilian deaths due to terrorism. This includes factoring in the largest attack suffered ever on October 7th, with approximately 1200 fatalities.

In other words, in the last 10 months they have, in Gaza alone, killed between 5 and 9 times as many civilians as they've lost to terrorism over the entire course of their existence.

Which doesn't even reference the estimated nearly 2 million people whose homes have been literally destroyed. And the estimated nearly as many who are already, or at risk of, facing dire famine.

Think about that civilian carnage. With no legitimate end plan.

Does that sound like a rational response? A productive response? It's so far beyond "Well ya know if they hide near kids and women whatcha gonna do besides f***in' kill all the kids and women? Tough situation but no choice. " It's insane.

    Tell us more about Muslims.

What a joke post. The leadership of Hamas, along with Netanyahu, are the real/only winners of this conflict. They both need to feel needed, in order to remain in power.

So anyone who wants to "finish this off" really is just supporting the leadership of Hamas.

Was that simplistic and childish enough? Did I do it right?

When Hamas, the governing body of Gaza, invaded in a planned military attack, of Israel, that included raping, torturing and maiming women and children, they were accompanied by Gazan civilians who participated in the attack.

If that happens to me or my countrymen, I’ll support anything that maximizes the destruction of the perpetrators, even if it involves collateral damage. Gazan civilians participated in the attack. Gazan families helped hide hostages. Gaza’s supported the attack. Am I going to expend lives of our military to try to save civilians, many of which were partially complicit? No.

You are holding Israel to standards no country in war has ever been held to, and most likely not what you’d demonstrate if such an attack affected people who you loved or cared for.

You don’t think Hamas is an existential threat? They have been firing rockets repeatedly. Their goal is to eradicate the state of Israel. They are surrounded by other countries and populations that would love to eradicate Israel.

Couple that with the fact that Jews are a race/tribe that suffered an attempt to eradicate them and 6 million deaths.

What they view as an existential threat from their vantage point is quite different that what a bunch of keyboard warriors think of as a threat being separated by oceans and thousands of miles from our nearest military threat.

Hamas itself is not an existential threat to Israel. They pulled off a stealth sneak attack after years of lulling Israel into complacency. And it still took massive intelligence failure for it to happen.

As for the rest of the region…

Do you think what Israel is doing right now is growing or shrinking the existential threat to their existence?

    Say what?!

Sure, the approximately 10 million residents of Israel barely-just barely!- survived the 10/7 attack, which truly threatened the state of Israel. Almost forced it out of existence.

As have the appx 40 annual fatalities due to terrorism averaged over the last appx 80 years.

"We need to go kill anyone and anything because of this, and I don't care if it's women and children! "

    Do you hear yourself?

    We know.

    It's called war crimes.

Killing 10s of thousands of civilians and children, and injuring multiples of 10s of thousands, and displacing up to 2 million, and potentially starving up to 2 million .......in response to a terrorist act that killed appx 1200 people......is a tremendously disproportionate reaction that can best be described as war crimes.

Many people are OK with this, this counterproductive destruction of mostly civilian lives. You indicate that you are too. So it is.

Apparently ALL civilians are targets to be killed, since SOME helped terrorists. And ALL are targets to be killed since Hamas was elected by the less than 50% of the population old enough to vote, and who probably had very little choice.

The proper response is Killing and starving civilians and children, according to some.

    You're entitled to your opinion.

Hamas has the exact same motivation as Hitler did. Think about that.

Does anyone mention as many as 2 Million (German civilians killed in WW2 to end that threat?

I sometimes wonder if the few people here defending Hamas have political reasons rather than moral ones.

Eradicating a world evil is a messy job.

IMO seemed too restrained of a response to this post : Anyone who doesn’t want to see Israel finish Hamas off is pro Hamas.

Absurd. I should start posting about how he HATES CHILDREN, because now so many are dead and starving. He HATES WOMEN. And civilians.

And he loves Hamas, because their leadership wanted this war.

You really see an accusatory, absurd post like the o e I responded to and consider it reasonable?

I tried to pay attention, but I haven't seen a soul on this board defending Hamas, as you clearly state is happening.

It would be interesting to see any exact quotes from such people. Could you please provide them?

Well its probably not favorable to Israel if you do, considering they are attempting to remove people from their land in order to resettle it for themselves a lot like the German nationalists attempted. The best comparison is probably the American wars against the Indians (which were of interest to those same Germans).

To be clear, I am not implying that anyone supports them, just that in the case of numbers people are defending them. What else would you call it?

Hamas and Hitler had the exact same stated goal and if given the chance would do the exact same thing.

I think at least that part is very valid.
