Honestly based on this story it’s a nothingburger. Sounds to me like the founder had good intentions, and it’s a “green” business to boot (vertical farming) , a lot of that just sounds typical failing of a startup that didn’t make it, wasn’t well run and got desparate at the end. The F word is used in this article (fraud). That’s always a danger with public startup company, maybe this one wasn’t ready to come public. Really depends on what they were saying publicly vs what they were doing (material misstatements are where fraud comes in). Did they enrich themselves despite the failing? I’m not saying no fraud took place, but we need more facts, when a company goes down the tubes the investors who lose are generally always going to “allege” fraud, so that must be kept in mind.
