Agreed. At least he showed some fight even though he spit at a Free Shoes player. Team needs some dudes that show emotion (within reason unless it’s a rival)
My post was sarcastic. I don't view spitting on opposing players to be a positive contribution given that it results in a penalty and ejection, regardless of who the opponent is. Lyons needs to find a positive way to channel his emotions; spitting only hurts the team and makes us look bad.
I know you were being sarcastic. My comment wasn’t serious at all. It’s just funny that it happened against FSU of all teams is all.
Florida redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Jamari Lyons suffered a season-ending injury during UF's first scrimmage of fall camp, Gators head coach Billy Napier confirmed Monday. "Jamari Lyons broke his ankle, and he'll be out for the season," Napier said Monday. "Obviously our thoughts and prayers are with him."
How many of our best players have we lost every year since 2009 during pre-season? Answer - 14. Nearly every season since Meyer left we lost a crucial player during the month of August before playing any games. We aren't Georgia, we can't afford to lose our best every season before the 1st game. Georgia has 4 or 5 players at NT, all 4 star or higher.
I agree with your response. Instead of jumping the gun and making inaccurate statements (I am not including you), I believe that we need question the reports on his weight. It appears (at least to me) that imformation concerning Des's physical condition is being guarded (and for good reason). If the 447 is accurate, I would love to see him shed more wieght. In the big picture, it would be nice to see Des get down to at least 370. That is not going to happen this season. Hopefully next year.
We have to fill that roster. Injuries happen and the depth is just got to be there. Our depth is better than it has been but still not up to par with the big boys.
It’ll take something lifechanging because he’s been here three years and it appears there’s been zero progress.
