And misspell borders. A boarder is someone who rents a room from someone else.

Rick, thank you for wanting to share the book about an alternative cure for cancer on the Pub's cancer thread. Perhaps @duggers_dad might have more interest than I in reading it. I am now 5 years free and "cured" from cancer according to protocol. As difficult as the chemo and radiation were, I have and will continue to have complete confidence in my oncologist and the successful treatment she custom designed for me.

That is wonderful news, Lacuna. I only read it becasue because someone mentioned it to me. I don't think I have cancer, but I also would like to know more about it since two of three siblings died of cancer.

The information I've garnered from my journey is that no one is immune. I took a test on line and I had a 98% chance of NOT being diagnosed with breast cancer. I've always been slim, I had children, etc etc. Having siblings who died of cancer can be concerning. Look at their lifestyles and see if they parallel yours. One of the things I've had issues following is avoiding alcohol.

Eat healthy, exercise at least 3 times a week for 45min, drink water in place of sodas with a squeeze of lemon, avoid fried foods/fast food, bake instead of grill or fry when you can, and lower your intake of alcohol. I keep a dispenser with filtered lemons/cucs/fresh mint water in the fridge at all times. Very refreshing.

Everything you said here makes total sense to me. I have lost siblings to lifestyle, and I know one huge difference between me and the ones that died of cancer. I take vitamins (C is vital to me, IMHO)... the good vitamins, in pill form. It seems to keep me feeling and looking well.

Three powerful dietary changes to ward off many cancer types:
    1) Drastically reduce refined sugar intake (cookies, cakes, candies, ice cream, soda) -- eat them sparingly,
    2) Watch those carbs,
    and above all
    3) Avoid cured meats like your life depends upon it (bacon, pepperoni, lunch meat, etc).

It doesn't sound fun, but it can make a huge difference in warding off the beast.

And I suspect Trump will that found out first hand when he becomes the subject of ridicule rather than the attacker in his first and possibly his only debate with Kamala Harris.

Watch those carbs is too broad. Most fruits, veggies and legumes have plenty of carbs and have a lot to offer for a very healthy lifestyle.

Well, I don't need to live forever. I gotta die of something. Might as well go out because I ate too much bacon and cookies. :emoji_joy:

Don't forget Vit D3. Most Americans are deficient. My count was 10 when I was diagnosed. The norm is from 50-90.

I don't miss lunch meats and have one cookie or a sliver of cake at a party, always say no to desert at the restaurant etc. Not that hard to do. The carbs on the other hand..

Again, not all carbs are created equal.

True. The carbs in broccoli are ok, the carbs in chips are not.

Agree that my comment on carbs was too broad. NavyGator has it right.

Food changes are MUCH easier once you've been hit. Like that line from "Rocky Balboa": It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
