If I recall Wikileaks obtained Podesta's emails from the Russians because he fell for a phishing scam and voluntarily gave the hackers his logon credentials. In other words they didn't even have do any actual hacking to obtain access.

I'm old enough to remember when Trump minions were charged because of the hacks on Dem emails, and/or the DNC.

President Donald Trump’s confidant Roger Stone was charged with lying about his pursuit of Russian-hacked emails damaging to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election bid, with prosecutors alleging that senior Trump campaign officials sought to leverage the stolen material into a White House win.

Trump pardoned Roger Stone for crimes which included his role in the hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.

Certainly this can't be an issue Trump considers grave now...

isn't phishing just a form of hacking?

It is in a way although rather than using technical means to access a server or account it uses deception to entice the victim to voluntarily reveal his/her logon credentials.

It's a foot in the door. There's a few phases after the breach, like movement, privilege escalation, exfiltration, and persistence. But having someone give up their credentials is an easy way in to get the ball rolling.

One of the biggest threats these days is smaller companies/organizations getting hacked and being used to leverage an attack on larger entities. Anybody can spoof an email address and send a phishing email. What's dangerous is when one of your vendors get hacked and you're no longer getting spoofed emails from some random server on the internet, you're getting them from a group that you are used to talking to, from their actual domain, and it usually slips right by filters meant to stop email attacks. If you don't know the vendor is hacked, you don't know to blacklist them.

A sophisticated email campaign can be quite dangerous.

Hate to quote myself, but I didn't want to edit and get re-reviewed for the yahoo source article. If Trump's "laying down the law" with China was so successful, then why did he have to put all of those tariffs on China? And why was he so stupid to say that China was paying those tariffs, instead of the American consumer?

Well, the good news for Trump's selection of J.D. Vance for V.P. is that Vance has never been seen in drag . . .

    UNTIL NOW ! ! !

JD Vance’s Campaign Won’t Deny That’s Him in Viral Drag Photo

Nothing remotely weird here. Nothing to see. Move along!

Same. I just got back from an IT conference put on by my company and heard some stats that were alarming, like how many of our vendors have been comprised and used those accounts to try and attack us. The year to date number was a lot higher than I could have expected. I got a phisihing email during the conference from the internal team, lol.

Vance defended his idea to give people with children an extra vote in elections compared to childless people (including childless cat ladies) by saying it was a "thought experiment". Apparently, when you have a really bad idea that polls horribly, you can sweep it under the carpet by calling it a thought experiment. His next thought experiment--what? Giving black people three fifths of a vote? No good?

JD Vance says mass deportations should 'start with 1 million,' defends 'thought experiment' giving parents extra votes

Word on the street is that Vance's couch is talking, and it says it has pictures of Vance in drag . . . and that relations with Vance may not have been consensual . . .

The GOP emboldened an idiot, now they would like him not to act like an idiot. Good luck with that. GOP has created a party that will laser focus on tampons and rants about fake crowd sizes, no substance. You see it on these boards.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4824100-trump-republicans-campaign-issues/

In that time, he has attacked Harris over her biracial heritage, blasted the popular Republican governor of Georgia during an Atlanta rally, touted the size of the crowd on Jan. 6 in comparison to the audience from the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, and falsely claimed Harris’s huge rally crowds were fabricated.

Trump is campaigning in Jeffrey Epstein's jet. New tail number, same serial number.

I guess he just really feels comfortable in it (or he's creating explanations for the presence of his DNA.)
