China basically gets gold in every single diving competition. Not sure how to break up the stranglehold, but that's quite the advantage

US women just blow away the world and set new OR in 4 x 400 relay. 2nd place finisher not even in same frame on TV at finish.

Looks like Chiles may lose her bronze medal. AMazing that they have 1 minute after the event to file an appeal or it is outside the time limit

Jordan Chiles might have to return bronze medal after CAS ruling (msn.com)

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled Saturday that the judging panel at the women's floor exercise final improperly granted an inquiry that increased Chiles' score and moved her into bronze medal position. The Swiss-based court found that Chiles' appeal was submitted past the one-minute deadline for such requests and therefore should not have been granted.

As a result, CAS said, Chiles should have received a score of 13.666 in the event – which would've placed her fifth, just shy of the Olympic podium. But it stopped short of ruling on the order of finish, or whether Chiles will keep her bronze.

"The Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) shall determine the ranking of the Final of the women’s Floor exercise and assign the medal(s) in accordance with the above decision," CAS said in its ruling.

In response to a request for comment, a spokesperson for FIG, which is the international federation that oversees gymnastics, only said that "a statement will be published on the FIG website in due course."

This may be the most hostile away crowd any of these USA basketball players have ever faced.

Well that's dumb. The judges admitted they made an error in calculating the score, and the player has 1 minute to notice and ask for a correction.

I don't get the Embiid hate. It looks like he was born in Cameroon, moved the US when he was 15, never lived in France, as far as I can tell.

He got Fench citizenship a few years ago and the speculation has always been he wanted to play for France and that's why he did it.
