I don't know if anyone cares about the shotput, but it's been a disaster. It rained for both the men's and women's finals, and the Olympics had no way to deal with it. I watched the men's, and after the ran started, I think it was only 2 contestants were able to complete legal throws. It was like 2 out of the last 25 attempts were legal. Those big dudes were sliding out of the circle, and some were falling awkwardly looking like a broken leg waiting to happen. I saw the same happened yesterday for the women yesterday. During the men's final, they said "I'm sure they'll figure out how to move a canopy over the circle if it rains again". Looks like didn't ...
American women take soccer gold over Brazil 1-0. Out played most of first half, got a second half goal and held on. US goalie was great with a couple of huge saves.
China is pulling away in gold medals… 37 to 34. I don’t know if there are enough events left for the US to catch up. Should get 2 more golds with the basketball games, though.
