I taught Tuesday/Thursday classes and on the Thursday before the FF in Indy I told my students that classes would be canceled next Tuesday because they will all be celebrating the National Championship until late Monday night. After the semi games my party all drove to Champaign, IL to stay with my dad on Sunday and Monday morning. He was all "UCLA is too good defensively. Florida has no shot.at winning" and I said "If they defend us with the same schemes that they did against LSU we will win easily." What a great weekend. Lots of time at the Gator bar in Indy.
that’s awesome! At the start of the season, I bet Florida to win the title … 80:1. No, I’m not a genius… just superstitious. I was in Vegas; I had to make the bet. Fast forward to that weekend in Indy… the most fun of my life. I was there for both games. Before the game, my dad suggested I “hedge my bet” and take the points with ucla. No way. I had never been more confident in a matchup. I KNEW we were gonna smash the the Bruins. And so, I actually bet MORE on Florida. It was a good night!
