Agreed. And Serbia is a good team. The Forever MVP and more current NBA talent plus long-time chemistry guys. They could probably make the NBA playoffs.

And the shooting was unrealistic. It was something like whoever that was that went ballistic against us in the NCAA tournament.

Unlike us, even that absurdity wasn’t enough once USA got locked in.

Probably so. They need to close it out.

They were spamming threes, it was ridiculous. It’s dangerous to rely on that all game tho because fatigue eventually sets in (especially against a team with depth like the U.S.) and your legs are gone by the 4th and that affects your jumper. Hence Serbia not making a single 3 pointer in the 4th Q.

And those threes were also not pre-game open.

I think it was AD who blocked a jump shot (not a three) in the 3rd that was an important play. Once you get one blocked, you alter that trajectory and timing juuust a bit. Until then they were doing the cursory “close out” thing, which IMO is the single most overrated “fundamental” in the sport. As a shooter in HS I was not the least bit concerned by that. But if you got one, things changed.

American wrestler had the lead in a semifinal match and only needed to hold on for a few seconds more. With four seconds to go the Bulgarian flipped him to advance to the gold medal round. The American will still wrestle for bronze.

    It’ll be nuts.

Imagine being a French fan and your legit team with legit NBA players play for gold against Lebron and Steph.

I will be carving out a live watch for sho.

Watching the women's 1500 semis and the American Hiltz was referred to as "They" pronoun by the announcer multiple times. I guess MAGA Twitter hasn't caught on to this affront to our humanity yet? Maybe in the finals? In b4 contrived controversy.

If they play a “real” game, no contest. That would mean a lot of bruised egos. But that’s what Kerr should do.

Bam and Ant and Booker are obviously badasses, but sit back and watch the studs bring it home.

I think Serbia was the #2 team in the Olympics. I was frustrated that we got stuck facing them as the #1 seed in the semis. They're much better than the German team that France beat imo.
I hope I don't jinx them, but I don't think France is all that good. Wemby is super talented, but he's very young. Gobert is injured and not playing much. The other guys are either past their prime (Batum) or barely NBA caliber. IMO, the best non-USA teams were Serbia and Canada. Canada choked against Germany. My perspective of France is that they have big man talent, but they're lacking big time at the guard spots.

EDIT: Canada choked against France. My mistake.
When Steph Curry is hot and you've got LeBron, KD, and Embiid cooking, there's not much you can do.

I was more upset that he risked his body like that. Hopefully he didn't do permanent damage

I felt bad for Femke. She's very positive and humble during her interviews. She even speaks highly of Sydney. You Femke fold once she saw Sydney pass her. She tried to go stride for stride at the start, ran out of gas and ultimately didn't run her race. Femke had never been tested since Sydney's absence so Femke didn't know how to handle the pressure. Sydney would have won no matter what, but a closer race may have led to a faster time for Sydney
