Of course I don’t care what Trump thinks! I don’t hide the fact that I am Never-Trumper.

But there are some here that accept everything he says and does as LAW, and thus I find it hypocritical for someone LIKE THAT to criticize Walz’ handling of the riots when Trump personally called the Walz to congratulate him in handling it.

Agree. Think Trump and Walz handled the riots terribly. I'm happy to have never voted for trump and won't be doing it in 24 either. Don't even see a decent 3rd party candidate to vote for because Harris/Kennedy are both terrible candidates as well.

Mentioned it when the issue regarding Tim Walz's DUI almost 30 years ago was previously raised, did you believe that this candidate was unqualified for the presidency based on his DUI conviction roughly the same period of time prior to his run for the presidency?

It's wonder that so called conservatives love a candidate who has praised the leader of Russia, a former KGB colonel has described the collapse of the Soviet Union as a great geopolitical tragedy keeping in mind that President Reagan once referred to the Soviet Union (accurately if not diplomatically) as the "evil empire".

It won't be long although Trump's use of juvenile nicknames in reference to his opponents seems to be much more effective in Republican primaries than in a general election considering that four years ago he was defeated by "Sleepy Joe" aka "Basement Biden" aka "China Joe" while he vanquished "Meatball Ron" aka "Ron DeSanctimonious" and "Birdbrain" Nikki Haley in 2024 and "Little Marco", "Lyin' Ted" and "Low energy Jeb" in 2016.

Really pathetic that you would project such garbage on Walz, who served his community, state, country in so many outstanding ways. What causes such deep and pathetic desperation?

Just out of curiosity, is there a candidate you would support or you have supported in the past? You are pretty critical of everyone so it seems unlikely that there will ever be a candidate that meets your standards. Not that that's a bad stance since we should have exceptionally high standards for the President but our choices rarely reflect that.

What a classless post. Even below your usual standards and that's saying something. Have to wonder how you measure up in comparison.

Not sure if all the details in there are accurate but there are parts of the paid letter that line up with enrolling in any reserve PME and the obligations that a service member accepts when they are agree to attend one. This letter needs to be fact checked by a military reporter to verify its info.

Here are the two things in the letter that stood out to me:

PME Obligation. This shows that Walz incurred an obligation to serve two years.
In early 2003 he was selected to attend the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. The non-resident course consists of two years of correspondence coursework, followed by a two-week resident phase at Fort Bliss, Texas. When a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer accepts enrollment in the course, they accept three stipulations. First, they will serve for two years after graduation from the academy, or promotion to Sergeant Major or Command Sergeant Major, whichever is later. Second, if they fail the course they may be separated from the military. Third, they will complete the course or be reduced to Master Sergeant without board action. Senior Non-Commissioned Officers initial and sign a Statement of Agreement and Certification upon enrollment. The State Command Sergeant Major or Army National Guard Command Sergeant Major counsels the soldier and certifies that the senior Non-Commissioned Officer understands their responsibilities. These stipulations are put in place because the academy is a college level school, the military invests a lot of taxpayer money in the student. The military needs to ensure they will get the return on investment that the taxpayers deserve.

CSM assumption Date. This paid letter is the only reporting I've seen on the date Walz assumed CSM Duties.
On September 17th, 2004 he was conditionally promoted to Command Sergeant Major.

If that timeline is accurate, Walz would have incurred a two year obligation to serve as a CSM once he pinned on the rank based on the agreement he signed to attend the SgtMaj Course. That would have taken him to around Sept 16th, 2006.

Again, the accuracy of this letter needs to be verified.

I don’t read it that way. The bolded language states “the later of” not “earlier.”

It means if Walz were to graduate in February of '05 but not assume the duties of a CSM until May of '05, then his two year clock starts in May of '05. That would be the "the later of." The phrase "the later of" is there to ensure that the obligation period does not start until the duties of a CSM are assumed, instead of just graduating. It is meant to ensure that Bns gets school trained Senior Enlisted Advisors (SEL) that are in place for at least two years.

I didn’t realize this was a paid op-ed from someone with an axe to grind. I’ll have to read the actual regulations before definitely stating but the intent but on its face I agree with you. However, it seems to me the language doesn’t support him having a two-year obligation since it was a conditional promotion and he had not graduated from the school.
