There is also nothing that states Walz didn't file his retirement paperwork according to protocol. And if you look at the Army's current retirement website, Army retirement is a process, not an event.

Want some unanswered questions? If Walz retired just to avoid deployment to Iraq, why did the DOD allow him to retire and do so honorably? Do you think if his paperwork was not filed in time, the DOD, knowing a deployment was looming, would have accepted Walz's retirement on short notice? Or, would they have forced him to wait the six months, likely creating a situation where Walz would have been deployed with his unit?

Walz served 24 years. In 2005, Walz had a young child at home, and before the notice of potential deployment came, had already filed paperwork to run for Congress. Maybe someone at the DOD played favorites and allowed Walz to retire without filing a notice at least six months in advance, but what are the odds of that happening? It's much more likely Walz filed his retirement paperwork no later than Nov, 2024, and followed protocol.

    Tim Walz mug shot

“The Dawes County Sheriff's Office said Walz had been arrested on Sept. 23, 1995, after state police pulled him over on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Court documents allege that Walz, 28 at the time, who was a high school teacher and football coach at the time, was speeding above 80 mph. He failed a breath test with a .128 blood-alcohol level. The limit back then was .1 in many parts of the country, including Nebraska. It is now .08.

He also failed a field sobriety test, but his lawyer blamed the incident on a combination of his client's bad hearing and that the state trooper didn't turn his siren on right away.”

So now you're accusing a patriotic American, who honorably served his country for 24 years, of being a deserter. There's no excusing your warped hatred of everything good in this country.

    Waste of time. Blocked.

Disagree. I'm independent and want to know the truth. IF Walz lied and said some some things that weren't true then it's fair game. My brother served 30 years in the Navy and he said anyone embellishing their military career whatsoever is looked down upon.

And the January 6, 2021 insurgents who are imprisoned for assaulting police officers and vandalism among other crimes are "hostages". By the way if there are a small number of vandals among a very large group of peaceful protesters according to you the entire group should be considered vandals, thieves and arsonists.
Meet some of the violent Jan. 6 rioters Donald Trump keeps calling 'hostages'

You honestly believe he was embellishing? He incontrovertibly actively deployed overseas to support an ongoing war (or whatever term of art we want to describe our mission). He didn’t say he was in a combat zone, fired his weapon at the enemy, was shot at, etc. The fact that his unit didn’t end up moving from Italy to Afghanistan changes nothing about his statements. If he’d claimed more like taking fire, saving fellow soldiers, etc. then sure, give him shit. Looking into it that’s fine and fair game. But what we’ve seen so far is a combination of falsehoods by JD Vance and twisting his statements to mean something he didn’t say.

Walz is/was a reservist. The retirement process for reservists is different than for active duty. That is why there is a different link on the Army's Retirement page for them: US Army Soldier For Life

You are making a lot of bad assumptions based off the idea that the active duty retirement process that is the same for the reserves. Again, the date that Walz became the CSM for his unit will likely clear a lot of this up.

He claimed a rank he didn't retire with. That in itself is a terrible look. No other way to say it. Why did he do it?

Hadn't seen this posted. Informative to say the least.

Paid letter: The Truth About Tim Walz

On November 1st, 2006, Tom Hagen, Iraq War Veteran, wrote a letter to the editor of the Winona Daily News. Here are a couple of sentences from the letter: But even more disturbing is the fact that Walz quickly retired after learning that his unit -southern Minnesota's 1-125 FA Battalion - would be sent to Iraq. For Tim Walz to abandon his fellow soldiers and quit when they needed experienced leadership most is disheartening.

Here is part of Tim Walzs response: After completing 20 years of service in 2001, I re-enlisted to serve our country for an additional four years following Sept. 11 and retired the year before my battalion was deployed to Iraq in order to run for Congress.

According to his official Report of Separation and Record of Service, he re-enlisted for six years on September 18th, 2001. However, in his response he says that he re-enlisted for four years, conveniently retiring a year before his battalion was deployed to Iraq. Even if he had re-enlisted for four years following Sept.11, his retirement date would have been September 18th, 2005. Why then did he "retire" on May 16th, 2005, before his supposed four-year enlistment was up? And he makes it sound like he "retired" a year before his battalion deployed to Iraq; when in reality he knew when he "retired" that the battalion would be deployed to Iraq.

The bottom line in all of this is gut wrenching and sad to explain. When the nation called, he quit. He failed to complete the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He failed to serve for two years following completion of the academy, which he dropped out of. He failed to serve two years after the conditional promotion to Command Sergeant Major. He failed to fulfill the full six years of the enlistment he signed on September 18th, 2001. He failed his country. He failed his state. He failed the Minnesota Army National Guard, the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion, and his fellow Soldiers. And he failed to lead by example. Shameful.

Walz was the natural pick for Kamala. Spineless, arrogant progressive SOB who sold out his country and his state.
