Seems that she handled it just fine. Genuinely don't understand the criticism. I guess you have extra time to grasp at straws since you aren't posting polls anymore for some reason.

I saw the video headline in the UK press this morning so watched it - I got the exact opposite interpretation. I thought she came over quite collected and authoritative about it.
Isn't opinion a funny thing?

How about focus on the fact it’s been almost 3 weeks and she has yet to do a sit down interview or any kind of off the script questions.

Does anyone know where she stands on things like China, budget, and taxes?

 

I actually thought that Harris did a great job of standing up to the protestors and putting them in their place. In fact, that may have been her "Sister Souljah" moment. For those who do not recall Sister Souljah was left-wing rap artist and author who was publicly repudiated by Bill Clinton when he was running for the presidency. His criticism of her remarks helped reaffirm his status as a moderate rather than as a lefty.

 

I believe both candidates should be required to do a certain amount of interviews / debates / other things to educate the public on their stances. However, you can’t say that Kamala is dodging interviews because she is afraid to. Trump is becoming even more unhinged than he normally is and Harris’ strategy is working so well Vance is sprinting across the runway at FBO’s to “ask Kamala why she won’t do interviews.”

It is clearly a campaign strategy that is working as evidenced by the polls and Trump / Vance’s actions and words. If your defense is dismantling the other team’s in a 3-4 scheme, you don’t switch to a 4-3 because the other coach whines about it.

Sure, although for the analogy to be perfect it would need to note that the 3-4 scheme is only working because the refs are crashing the line to eat blocks and fill the A gaps.

The reason the Trump campaign is making a big scene of it is to try to force the media to acknowledge that, in the nearly three weeks since she became the presidential candidate, she hasn’t said a single unscripted word or had even one on the record discussion with press.

But as long as the media keeps just going “look how joyful, this is so exciting!” without mentioning that we haven’t heard a single non-teleprompted word from her, there’s no reason for her to actually try to have a meaningful conversation with anyone.

 

That’s fair. I would like my preferred sources of news (The Economist and WSJ) to call her out on the strategy per my first thought in the first sentence above. CNN’s coverage of the word Joy is completely over the top.

But you can’t criticize Harris or her campaign for the strategy to date as they are playing the game to win.

And Trump can’t complain because it was truly his race to lose, but he spends all his time focused on personal grievances instead of creating and articulating a winning strategy.
