It says much that a poster will speculate that Biden dictated a debate with muted mikes, timed responses and no audience on one hand, and "lefties don't want a debate" on the other. It is hard to keep up with.

He reminds me of JD Vance in that he will say anything to win the current point, even if it is false, manipulative or contrary to his prior statements.

Dude. All of that is fine. You are entitled to think what you want. Just leave "Christian" out of it.

Truth is, if Jesus had his way we would all live under one glorious kingdom of peace. No borders. No politics.

    Believe what you wish.

I will if you know that I was simply mentioning that she used Christmas in her tweet to make a point, and I was simply pointing that out.

I do believe she has lost control of our border.

“Lefties don’t want to debate” is more a mockery of the leftist talking point on this thread.

The real issue is both sides want to debate on THEIR terms, which leads to shit talking from both sides Biff-style from Back to the Future. “What’s wrong McFly? Chicken!?” :D

Both campaigns aim to avoid putting their candidate at a disadvantage, which is understandable. Viewers also have their own preferences for debate formats, adding another layer of complexity, making consensus difficult.

A key point right now is that Trump's campaign agreed to the ABC debate months ago. He is now reneging on that agreement because Harris is the opponent and is demanding a more favorable venue, format, and time. You can call Harris 'chicken' for wanting to stick with the agreed-upon format, or you can call Trump 'chicken' for refusing to debate on the terms he initially accepted.

EXCEPT....2 of the key issues are not advantages/terms for a "debate". No crowd doesn't impact an actual debate. Silencing mikes only serves to maintain debate integrity and decorum. To try and omit either as a term of the debate simply degrades the actual debate quality. Tha's not really debatable lol

    In debates where tempers ignite,
    Two candidates bicker and fight,
    The crowd, with delight,
    Seeks spectacle's bright,
Caring not for the votes done right.

Folks who desire an audience and confrontation want entertainment, not information for future voting. IMHO

Then Kamala should have no issues acquiescing to Trump’s terms, especially considering that Trump’s terms have been used in numerous debates and Fox News has moderated numerous debates.

I would even go as far as to say no muted mics and a live audience is status quo for Presidential debates. The last one we saw with Trump and Biden was an outlier.

Or they just want favorable terms for their preferred candidate and for their preferred candidate to not be locked in alone in a room with Kamala Harris and members of her PR team posing as moderators or fact-checkers, while having their finger on a button that muzzles Trump.

That’s just a much of a circus as an audience and no muted mics. The danger of course with your proposal is that it presents the illusion of being an honest debate of the issues, when that may not necessarily be the case.

Maybe it's both. Besides, it's hilarious how some y'all are making it like beating Trumph is just a matter of winning a game. It's that simple [minded].

Previous debates featured individuals that displayed decorum and understood a serious debate. We all know Trump (and his crowd/audience) is incapable of maintaining a level that rises to legitimate and honest debate.
You either want a serious grown up debate on the issues or you don't. Without muted mikes and audience limitations you get the Trump circus. You may be fine with that circus, most serious adults do not.

Under the current terms you risk a lefty ass-kissing circus disguised as a real debate… which is worse than a Trump circus.

A Trump circus may not be educational, but at least it’s entertaining.

Lefty ass-kissing circus is neither educational nor entertaining, but people incorrectly perceive it as educational.

So why did the felon's team negotiate the ABC debate in the first place? I say go by the established deal or forget it, Pubs are behind already so why bother. Pubs love being lied to since the felon lied on average every 4 minutes in the first debate, and ignored the prompts/questions to do so.

Oh stop.....asking questions on the issues and enforcing debate rules is not a left or right debate leaning term of the debate. We all know that, including you. I guess you also know Trump doesn't have the intellect or platform to do well in that environment....feel free to just admit that Trump is likely to get killed in an actual debate on the issues
