The question was about what we need to see from the offense. I stated that I'd like to see 3 more TDs per game; didn't say I expected it.

    Now . . . @UF24ou14 is reasonable. He'll take 1 with an option for 2 most likely. LOL! :)

    Tempo. And better third quarters.

I’d like to see more third-and-ones turn into first-and-tens rather than third-and-sixes.

And blocking. If we can run, they must defend it and we can pass easier. We were fairly predictable because we were limited as to what we could do. Is our line going to bee respectable or an asset, big difference. Weak line puts so much more pressure on the qb to make all the plays.

Hopefully one more a game and if the defense forces several more punts this year, it shouldn’t be too much to ask.

Obvious passing situations with a porous line is not a good look for any team.

If we scored 1 more TD per game and the defense held them to 1 less last season we would've had 4 more wins. We'll have to see if that will be enough this season. A 14 pt. turnaround will probably give us a few more wins this year as well.

This year will be tougher but it’ll be forward progress and I’ll be happy. Not sure what our record will be but it’ll be a better team on the field.

Throwing the ball past the line to gain on third and long. Much better red zone efficiency. Staying in attack mode in the second half with a lead.

I’m optimistic our offense will be more explosive and effective this year.

I agree with others. Everything starts with the offensive line. It all falls into place after that.

    And helmets made from unobtanium.

Frankly sounds like Billy's own plan. And it would be great if it happens. But making it happen is highly unlikely to happen.

It is a worthy goal to strive for but a top CFB coach also needs to have the ability to win with less. Because stuff inevitably happens in college. That is what separates the truly great from the rest, finding ways to overcome.

    Luck helps too.

Man, good point. One of our biggest disappointments for me since the Utah opener in the Swamp. That has to get better.

    Easy. Just a couple tweaks...

    Tackling
    Pass coverage
    Run defense
    Sacks
    Interceptions
    Fumbles
    Gap responsibility
    3rd downs
    Reducing chunk plays
    Not much else

I said “tempo”, I think I really mean “rhythm”. But yeah, halftime adjustments. The opening drive of the game almost always was good.

No head coach in the history of the game won more with less... or with bad assistant coaches, coaches that were NOT worth a damn. Napier seems to have fixed that part of his game...

I just wish he had the right staff from the start. But he's got far better coaches now than he had when he arrived in Gainesville. Im ready for a good year. Cain't wait!

Napier’s plan is to win more with more.

Yes, but no one has ever won more with less... as in less talented support staff. Those coaches the seem to win with less have great assistant coaches.

Now Napier has a much better foundation from which to build on.

And yes, I know he was known as the coach that had the most talent in the Sunbelt Conference... if that's what you're intimating. And that's why he won so much...

Read that, and I know that... don't know if I believe that... ;)

It should be every coach's goal to get as much talent as possible.

We have to see improved OL play. End of story. We have great potential and players at the other positions, and even if the exact same scheme is run out this year, we have weapons to get yards and score, but that is all predicated on the OL doing their part. Outside of Samford, every team we play has 1-5 DL that are a legitimate All conference players. Nobody else has that kind of schedule. It all starts at the OL.
