the man is well traveled and in style. this time a yacht trip to Russia and a helicopter ride to the Putin ancestral grounds

Clarence Thomas Took Free Yacht Trip to Russia, Chopper Flight to Putin’s Hometown: Dems (msn.com)

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been accused of not disclosing a yacht trip to Russia and a private helicopter flight to a palace in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hometown, among a slew of other gifts and loans from businessman Harlan Crow.

Buried on page 14 of a letter that two Democratic senators sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday, in which they urged Garland to appoint a special counsel to probe Thomas, was an astonishing list of dozens of “likely undisclosed gifts and income” from Crow, Crow’s affiliated companies, and “other donors.”

The list of potentially secret gifts also includes a loan of more than $267,000 provided by Thomas’ close friend Anthony Welters, the yacht trip to Russia from the Baltics and the helicopter ride to Yusupov Palace in St. Petersburg. ProPublica first reported last year on the existence of extensive undisclosed gifts and lavish trips from Crow.

wish it would have been someone else besides AOC

Clarence Thomas Hit With Two New Issues in 24 Hours (msn.com)

Articles of impeachment have been filed against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in the U.S. House just one day after two senators pushed for a federal criminal investigation of Thomas, alleging ethics violations.

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced on Wednesday that she had introduced articles of impeachment for Thomas and fellow conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, accusing both of failing to disclose gifts and reimbursements and refusing to recuse themselves in cases in which they had conflicts of interest.

Sen Sheldon Whitehouse is asking Garland for a special prosecutor to look into Thomas. I don’t think the request has legs though.

Wow, this whole, "investigate people I don't like" in another branch of government is getting old.

People in positions of power thinking they are above the law is getting much, much older. Thomas is corrupt, he needs to go.

I'm so old I remember when a Supreme Court justice couldn't get away with Clarence Thomas's blatant corruption. In 1969 Justice Abe Fortas was forced to resign from the Court under threat of an almost certain impeachment for receiving a stipend from a former client worth far less than the gratuities that Thomas has received from Crow. I would also add that at the time both Houses of Congress had Democratic majorities and Fortas was nominated by Lyndon Johnson a Democratic president.

No, the pubs in the senate have abandoned their responsibility to be a fair juror. Our system of checks and balances is broken

The net effect is they are above the law and accountable to no one. I don't think that is what the founders had in mind for any of the three branches. Rapidly losing any remnants of respect I have for that institution. This has nothing to do with partisanship. I would be equally upset if that pig Thomas was as liberal as the day is long.

A slippery slope over the long haul if this trend continues. Taxed, but represented? Is the will of the people being respected versus they are the rulers and we become their subjects? Minority rule is not sustainable if we are to keep our American experiment in place. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.# founders rolling over in their graves.

If Congress was as partisan in 1973/74 as it is now Richard Nixon would have served a full second term. He resigned because impeachment in the House followed by conviction in the Senate was a near certainty.
