Maybe I’m being overly optimistic (or overly cynical) about Kamala Harris’s ability to win elections, but we’ll see how long that lasts.

Maybe she does and maybe she doesn’t. But I bet she blunders badly enough to end the honeymoon phase before Election Day.

Biden, as the case with nearly all incumbent Presidents, had no real challenge in the primaries, even though the majority of the 15 million primary voters thought he was too old. Those primary voters were making a decision for 150 million voters in the general election. It's not perfect and when Biden had a dismal debate, his support declined to the point he withdrew. It's hard to say it wasn't a democratic process when the party has overwhelmingly embraced Harris, and are clearly unified.

A more clear example of not respecting democracy would be trying to overthrow an election by bogus legal means, fake electors and violence, refusing a peaceful transfer of power.

 

I keep seeing this claim that the Democratic Party is acting against democracy, but this criticism misses a key point: Democracy is about public action, and the parties are private entities.

 

Plus, if the party had really gone against the base's will in convincing Biden to pass the torch, the result wouldn't have been the Democratic base immediately becoming more engaged and donating hundreds of millions of dollars lol.

When did I ever say we need to ship every child back, Tilly? Go back a find that for me. We need to send illegal adults back for sure. And that I am saying right now. But the vast majority of illegal adults need to go back. We need to go back to letting in legal immigrants because there are many people that deserve a chance here, but that cannot be done though illegal trafficking... children nor adults. We have to live by our laws... and there are laws on the books related to PREVENT this type of illegal invasion.

 

Every time I hear this claim, all I think is sour grapes. As the old adage states: carefully what you wish.

 

Democrats did not abandon Joe Biden because of his age. They knew of his age and his mental decline, they never cared, and they still don’t care. How do we know? He’s still President and they’re happy with that.

They abandoned Joe Biden because they thought there was no way he can beat the Orange Man. It’s that simple.

Now their game plan is apparently to prop up an unpopular politician who has never won a competitive race in her life, and hide her weaknesses for 3 months. All while giving her all of the advantages of an incumbent with none of the disadvantages of one. She now conveniently owns everything they like about Biden’s record, but nothing they don’t like.
