Since we have reached Idiocracy as a nation, most citizens don't know what it takes for a president to achieve his goals and they think that they are kings. Combine that with the constant flow of disinformation attacks and the "next one up" will always appear better than the one in the job currently.

That's laughable to call it strategic when Harris caught up in the polls, is raising serious money and energy in the party, and making inroads to independents and moderate Republicans. She will also likely get a bounce from her VP pick, who I guarantee will be more strategic and appeal to a broader coalition than Vance, and convention where people can compare Trump's weird 90 min personal grievance to a vision for the country. Trump is floundering and the Fox idea is a bailout and weak. Kamala is holding the leverage here. I do want to see them debate, not because my vote would change as Trump is excluded for numerous reasons to ever get near power again, but to see how Harris handles his bullying and lies and keeps the focus on policy and character.
One of the many morals of the story here is that Haley would have cruised to a crushing defeat of Biden honestly had she been nominated and probably Harris also.
