He officially allowed on X today. But this was the funnier/sadder story. https://nypost.com/2024/06/04/lifes...t-service-become-hooked-on-porn-social-media/
The only reason Tesla is still in business is due to EV tariffs on China. China is producing them at really low cost and flooding the market.
Toyota, the lone major manufacturer that has and continues to be nEVer EVer. How exactly are they catching up, and how does that compare to all other non-niche manufacturers?
https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/11/tech/elon-musk-drops-openai-lawsuit/ Lawyers for Elon Musk on Tuesday moved to dismiss the billionaire’s lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, ending a months-long legal battle between co-founders of the artificial intelligence startup. Musk — who co-founded OpenAI in 2015 — sued the company in February, accusing the ChatGPT maker of abandoning its original, nonprofit mission by reserving some of its most advanced AI technology for private customers. The lawsuit had sought a jury trial and for the company, Altman and co-founder and president Greg Brockman to pay back any profit they received from the business. But OpenAI quickly pushed back against Musk’s claims, calling them “incoherent” and “frivolous” and arguing in a court filing that the case should be dismissed. The company also published a blog post that included several of Musk’s emails from OpenAI’s early days. The emails appeared to show Musk acknowledging the need for the company to make large sums of money to fund the computing resources needed to power its AI ambitions, which stood in contrast to the claims in his lawsuit that OpenAI was wrongly pursuing profit. Musk’s lawyers did not cite a reason for their request to drop the lawsuit in Tuesday’s filing. A hearing regarding OpenAI’s motion to dismiss the case had been scheduled for Wednesday.
Musk posts a deep fake video of Harris, with altered audio ... he must want very badly for 1/2 of America to never buy a Tesla ... the 1/2 that would be most interested in owning an electric car, at that... Elon Musk reposted a deepfake video of Kamala Harris on X — that may violate his own platform's policy (msn.com)
In the long run, Tesla's (TSLA) real value may be found in the energy/storage operation. BTW .... a year ago, the left was dying over Musk taking the axe to Twitter's staff but apparently, he was right in doing it. Seems like "X" is operating just fine without all of the personnel who were seemingly doing little or no work.
I fail to see the humor in it. It's tragic. It makes me feel like there's some sort of innate wisdom in the attitude of the Sentinelese toward outsiders. They have no idea how right they are to kill anyone who tries to come ashore.
Musk is being investigated in Michigan, apparently his PAC is running a misleading voter registration website that collects data and doesn’t provide you the correct form if it’s likely you are going to vote Democrat. Elon Musk PAC being investigated by Michigan secretary of state for potential violations
More daily active users than when he took over, with 1/5th of the staff. If Twitter ever had or has a chance, Elon is obviously the man to see it through. In any business, it would be a miracle to grow your customer base after laying off 80% of personnel.
Twitter last I checked is still not profitable and revenue has dropped precipitously the last two years. Operating just fine might be an overstatement. It’s still kicking is probably more accurate.
X, Owned by Elon Musk, Brings Antitrust Suit Accusing Advertisers of a Boycott X filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, a coalition of major advertisers, claiming that it had violated antitrust laws by coordinating with brands to dissuade them from spending money on the social media platform. The suit, filed in federal court in Texas, claims that the coalition, known as GARM, “conspired” with leading brands, including CVS, Unilever, Mars and the Danish energy company Orsted, to “collectively withhold billions of dollars in advertising revenue” that were owed to X, then known as Twitter, in the wake of Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media company in 2022. “The illegal behavior of these organizations and their executives cost X billions of dollars,” wrote Linda Yaccarino, X’s chief executive, in an open letter to advertisers. “People are hurt when the marketplace of ideas is undermined and some viewpoints are not funded over others as part of an illegal boycott.” With the lawsuit, X effectively declared war on advertisers, which provide the bulk of the social media company’s revenue. Since Mr. Musk acquired the company and promised to usher in a new era of unfettered free speech, many advertisers have limited their spending on X, concerned by reports of rising hate speech and misinformation there. By pursuing legal action against GARM, Mr. Musk continued to break with the leaders of other social media companies, who have forged close relationships with advertisers and been responsive to their concerns about offensive online content.
Just like a boy who has to have his mom force the other kids to play with him. Can't imagine this will win over any advertisers. Hint: the For You page is a cesspool. Try cleaning that up and maybe reputable companies will want to advertise.
