I know I certainly took my wallet with me every time I took a neighborhood walk with my kids when they were young.
Looks like you need to change the thread title.Distressed Oklahoma father is filmed being arrested and bodyslammed by cop for appalling reason as confused autistic son sobs beside him | Daily Mail Online
I hope y'all don't think I am backing the blue on this one. From what I have seen here they were wrong all around. What I am questioning is the fact that the mention of a black man being a victim and liberal posters freak out without really knowing the truth.
Who is freaking out? Other than the OP, you’re the only one talking about race. Everyone else is just saying the cop appeared to be way out of line.
“Excuse me officer, let me pull out this little know pamphlet called the Constitution. I recall there being something called the 4th Amendment, RAS, Terry v Ohio… oh crap you just dislocated my shoulder”
If that 90% is not speaking out in unison that the officers be a) fired and b) charged with child abuse, then they are part of the problem.
No problem with officers approaching and asking questions. However, it could have been easily resolved by asking the boy if that was his father and explaining to the father why they thought it was suspicious.
I saw this a few days ago. Here's more footage of the end of the interaction, including the arresting officer articulating what he thinks is reasonable suspicion. And a third officer agreeing with him. Local news isn't releasing their names. The video a clip features a from a former officer his the nail on the head. BaCk tHe bLuE
What could possibly be his basis of suspicion? A guy and his 6 year old are out breaking into houses? Selling drugs?
So why did he get stopped and questioned? Because he is white? I'd like to know what I am ignoring? I'm not defending the police. This thread wrongly had racism written all over it and even after someone (myself) pointed out the error we are still getting posts like yours. So if you would, please tell us why most of us would not be stopped and questioned?
The sheriff said that officer had a history of complaints and he demoted him because the deputies under him had lost faith in him as a leader. He left that department and was hired at this dept, where he's allowed to do shit like this, with 2 of his cop buddies agreeing that what he was doing was A-Ok. If you watch the video I posted, you can hear that the cop is pretty proud of taking the dad to the ground. This wasn't a race thing, it was yet another case of departments hiring incompetent cops. You might have a normal interaction, you might get jacked up in front of your autistic son, or you might get shot "in the f'n face." Good luck.
There are a lot of good cops out there, but this officer’s ego seems too fragile to be doing this line of work. One of the quickest and strangest escalations I have seen in awhile.
I choose to be more logical in certain situations. If a cop thinks you look suspicious, is that automatically racist of them? NOPE...
