That's a bummer but at least we have time to prepare around it. Hoping he makes a swift recovery back to 100%.
Try to relax old pal, all will come right. Seriously. Montrell is a tough dude, and the RB room is very talented if also very young. I've got a sneaky feeling about the run blocking and the young RBs surprising us and the CFB world in a very positive way. I have watched and rewatched the SG and in my chronically optimistic view, there is some serious explosiveness/power run potential in that group of backs. And at least two of those backs are physically ready for P4 and the SEC at this moment - with others still possible. But it isn't great, of course. But I hope MJ will be ready by the time TAMU rolls around and I think we'll be okay until then, fingers crossed. But week to week sounds like it may be sooner. Perhaps that's a purposeful deception, which would be fine with me. I wouldn't tell Miami a damn thing I didn't have to.
Week to week is positive for sure but have seen this mean more like 6 weeks. Most said we have good rb depth. We will see if we truly have good depth.
Maybe, but Webb will have to really hit the hole quick like we know he can. He is our best at that and if he can give us 4 yds a carry we will be ok.
Muschamp, maclwein and Mullen all had this injury luck. Everyone has injuries but we've had way more than our share
I'm grounded these days. I don't let the athletic mercenaries control my emotions like I used to. But I still enjoy Gator sports as a diversion and it would just be nice for a change to see us get a relatively healthy shot at competing.
I hear you, but we should be OK by TAMU if what we hear about the injury is true. I know nothing though except that it pays to listen to the doctors and that the first two up look like P4 guys to me. IMHO, Baugh looks NFL ready, at least physically, right now and Webb is no slouch either. If we show up poised but pissed on 8/31, and the Swamp is rocking, I think we are going to win with whoever we start at RB, anyway. Yeah, I'm pretty damn optimistic and I don't mind telling people about it. I sense a sea change.
When I was in PT school (and because I am an athletic trainer) I qualified for one of my internships at a SEC school (a hated rival) during football season. While I was there, we had two of the starters (DL and RB) have knee injuries during the season and both required scopes. We had them ready to play in 10 days and they both only missed one game. So week to week could mean just about anything, and at the major college level these guys rehab day and night to get better. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he played versus Miami.
It’ll be rockin and I can’t wait. The injury hurts a bit but we should be ok there. I do worry about the backups picking up blitzes and all the small things rbs do. I’m not so concerned with running the ball. If we were going to have a key injury, this is one we are more prepared to deal with.
Always hurts to lose the best overall back on the roster. Next man up. RB room is talented enough to hold down the fort.
