He should be more worried about how he operates a new offense than you should worry about how awesome he will be in a new offense when his stats were no better than his predecessor. Even Mertz had a few hiccups in the first few games of last year.

One of two ppl that never should've been allowed to coach a down for the FL Gators in the last 20 years for their actions prior to ever being hired here. I guess background checks aren't a thing in College football.

Dummies...don't they know that they need to hire the players parents and "uncles" and "cousins" for the no-show work. Apparently Stoops must have never worked for Saban or Shart.

Completely agree and I just mean I hope we make sure that happens. If we tackle terribly and let a few slants or running plays turn into 30 yard explosives, I worry he gets enough plays for it to start clicking. Or, I hope they don't go up like 20-7 with scripted plays at the beginning and then coast.

I'm just saying we need to come out mad, need to keep him on his heels, keep Martinez bottled up, and make them rely on him making perfect throws. That 4,600 yards in 2021 worries me. Yeah it was at Incarnate Word but his receivers at WSU were not anything special and Restrepo is one of the top 10 receivers for 2025 draft. RPO with Martinez may be killer.

That might be true, but the problem with Muschamp was that he never met a future Hall of Fame NFL Running back that he didn't want to turn into a linebacker.

Probably almost impossible to get 1000 yards with Doug effing Dickey running the show. Look at what he did with Nat Moore, running him through the line like a fullback. Got drafted 3rd round and set records catching passes for Don Shula’s Dolphins.
Dickey was our worst coach ever, until the trio of bozos that followed Urban Meyer. SMH

Before my time, but it was a running offense from what I’m told.

Ike had a lot of good receivers to share the ball with and Fred Taylor.
