I've seen the male swimmers wearing multiple layers of clothes but not sure what temp they have it set for in there. For the outdoor sports, seems like it's pretty hot now at least.

Paris 2024: Athletes wear ice vests as 35C temperatures affect Olympic Games

Temperatures are expected to reach 35C with a heat warning issued for Paris and the surrounding areas.

A yellow alert - the second of the four weather tiers - is in place in the capital, with an orange alert in Bordeaux and Lyon.

The sailing events are taking place in Marseille, on the Mediterranean coast in the south of France, where competitors wore ice vests to try to counteract the heat.

Paris and its surrounding suburbs have also been put on a major storm alert, with strong thunderstorms and heavy rain "likely" from 17:00 BST (18:00 local time).

I mentioned the swimmers’ winter coats to my wife. Ledecky was even wearing mittens. My wife said swimmers want to stay as warm as they can before they get in the pool.

Thank you for posting this! I love watching hakas. My late brother, who was a much better player than me, had the New Zealand All Blacks haka memorized.

New Zealand might be the most famous for hakas, but other Polynesian cultures also performed them. It’s fun when New Zealand plays American Samoa and both teams line up across from each other performing their haka to intimidate the other.

Honorary Gator Katie Ledecky is a 1500-meter machine and wins pure GOLD with yet another Olympic record.
    - She now ties for the most GOLD medals for an American woman with 8.
    - The USA has only 5 gold medals but two are from Gators (new & older).

The few hakas I've seen remind me of a Belushi skit, more humorous than intimidating.

    Haha! Samurai Haka. :D

Check out some from the New Zealand All Blacks. Although, a few years ago, they had to cut out the throat slash.

Yea, I googled them and see even the women perform them. As a fan they look pretty cool, but I think as a competitor I would just laugh and think WTH is this. :)

US women’s basketball, an incredible Olympic power and never lose, but attendance to their games is surprisingly low.

Haven't seen much, but got to watch women's soccer defeat Australia on Finnish broadcast. It's just as enjoyable w/o understanding the commentators :). Women almost blew that one late, but nice to see them get the V.
Now I'm watching what I consider the weirdest olympic sport: Speedwalking. How do they determine if a walker breaks into a quasi run? o_O

I call your meme and raise you data.

Paris Olympics TV ratings are up 79% over Tokyo Games, NBC says

If you're finding yourself drawn into watching the Paris Summer Olympics, you're far from alone: An average of 34.5 million viewers tuned in over the first three days, according to preliminary TV and streaming numbers shared by NBC.

The showing, driven by cable platforms and the Peacock app, reflects a 79% viewership rise from the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Olympics that took place in 2021, when 19.3 million people were counted by the same metric, according to the network.

The ratings for the 2024 Games were compiled by Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, combining live and same-day viewership of events using national figures and digital data.

46 seconds, a broken nose, and hit harder than ever in her life, the female tearfully forfeited the boxing match against a male before she became more seriously injured:

WATCH: Female Olympian Forfeits After Being Forced to Fight a Biological Man, Global Outrage Ensues – RedState

Shame on the Olympics for allowing this to happen. If I understand correctly, another female gets to confront a male on Friday.

I said it yesterday so I'll repeat it today, all of the female boxers should boycott the Olympics until the males are removed from the female competition.

What's next, throw Katie Ledecky in with the males so she can finish in last place rather than be the best female long-distance swimmer in the world?
