There is already talk about Trump having to replace JD Vance on the republican ticket. That Trump guy sure can pick 'em. Vance is polling horribly. Even his own family may not be willing to vote for him. Democrats sure like him, however; especially his reference to Trump being a modern-day Hitler. Trump should have gone with his first instinct and picked a stripper, after auditioning several of them, of course. Maybe Trump could have a new V.P. candidate every week, and see if any of them are not widely hated across the country.

I guess the silver lining is that Trump has someone to blame when he loses the election.

How Trump could replace JD Vance if the Ohioan's terrible polling continues

What's the rules on that? I've been hearing this a lot. Can Trump just replace him after the convention?

Pretty sure, as with the Dem party booting Biden, the GOP can do whatever they want as well. The rules for this shit are made by the parties, not the government.

I looked into this a little and it appears there are rules, implying the candidate would have to leave the ballot voluntary or by death, and then the RNC would have to vote to replace that person ... but I'm sure the RNC would break those rules if Trump asked ... or if not, I'm sure the J6 crew would be happy to try to murder another Trump VP if he asked ...

The Harris campaign staffers have been turning up the heat on Donald the past few days. Almost the same people as before but have been super aggressive after Biden dropped out.

Trump tells the elderly Christian coots that support him that November is the last time they will ever have to vote. He indicates this is because he will appoint conservative judges who will protect "religious liberty" (as opposed to the liberal judges who apparently want to destroy religious liberty in Trump's world). It is NOT because he will appoint himself dictator-for-life and set up Eric Trump as his successor. It is NOT because Trump will end democracy as we know it.

The message is clear: vote for the rapist, and your Christian dreams will come true.

It doesn't matter that future republican candidates will be screwed as the elderly stop voting. I'm not sure what having conservative judges will do, when Congress and the White House in the future will automatically go liberal without the elderly voting republican.

Is Trump trying to close the door on future republican con-men? Is his ego threatened by the idea that a better con-man might come along and outshine his con?

VC's for Kamala - not going to let Thiel put his thumb on the scale without a counterbalance.

With tech leaders like Elon Musk turning to Trump, more than 100 Silicon Valley investors pledge support for Harris (msn.com)

More than 100 venture capitalists pledged to vote and gather donations for Harris, according to the newly launched website, VCsForKamala.org. Signatories include Reid Hoffman, a cofounder of LinkedIn, Ron Conway, a so-called "super angel" investor, and Mark Cuban.

The venture capitalists who've signed in support of Harris represent about $150 billion in assets under management, Leslie Feinzaig, the managing director of the firm Graham & Walker and one of the principal organizers of the effort, said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"We are pro-business, pro-American dream, pro-entrepreneurship, and pro-technological progress," a statement on the VCsForKamala's website says. "We also believe in democracy as the backbone of our nation." The statement says that strong institutions are integral to all industries and are "at stake in this election."

been hoping this would happen the minute Cannon dismissed. Imagine djt having to compete with two black women at the same time..of the irony

Judge Chutkan could jumpstart Trump election interference case now that it’s back in her court (msn.com)

A federal judge in Washington, DC, on Friday should regain control of the criminal case against former President Donald Trump for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, leaving the historic criminal case’s fate in her hands less than 100 days before the November election. Chutkan has long signaled she wanted the case presented to a jury before voters go to the polls in November, initially pushing for a March trial date. But the Supreme Court interceded earlier this year and put the case on pause to consider Trump’s claims of presidential immunity.

By granting Trump sweeping immunity for official acts as president, the Supreme Court’s ruling may gut special counsel Jack Smith’s case. That leaves Chutkan with a number of crucial decisions to make, including whether Trump’s efforts to undo the 2020 election results count as official acts.
    ..............................
While it’s still not clear when – if ever – the case will go to trial, observers believe Chutkan will move quickly to move the criminal proceedings along given her judicial style. “She likes to move cases along,” the same attorney told CNN of Chutkan. “She doesn’t want to want a lot of talk, she’ll just rule.”

Five major motions are pending before the judge, four of which she could rule on immediately. Sources say that some of the attorneys involved in the case believe Chutkan may have worked on writing opinions for outstanding motions while the case was paused, and that those motions could quickly appear on the court docket.

Don't hold your breath. None of these trials happen before the election. Simple: if he wins, he skates and he knows it.

yes, this funding was heading to djt when he decided to inject $10M of "his own" money into the campaign.

this was a straight up bribe to influence policy just like the payments to Menendez..from the article

Five days before Donald Trump became president in January 2017, a manager at a bank branch in Cairo received an unusual letter from an organization linked to the Egyptian intelligence service. It asked the bank to “kindly withdraw” nearly $10 million from the organization’s account — all in cash.

Inside the state-run National Bank of Egypt, employees were soon busy placing bundles of $100 bills into two large bags, according to records from the bank. Four men arrived and carried away the bags, which U.S. officials later described in sealed court filings as weighing a combined 200 pounds and containing what was then a sizable share of Egypt’s reserve of U.S. currency. Federal investigators learned of the withdrawal, which has not been previously reported, early in 2019. The discovery intensified a secret criminal investigation that had begun two years earlier with classified U.S. intelligence indicating that Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi sought to give Trump $10 million to boost his 2016 presidential campaign, a Washington Post investigation has found.

Within months of learning of the withdrawal, prosecutors and FBI agents were blocked by top Justice Department officials from obtaining bank records they believed might hold critical evidence, according to interviews with people familiar with the case as well as documents and contemporaneous notes of the investigation. The case ground to a halt by the fall of 2019 as Trump’s then-attorney general, William P. Barr, raised doubts about whether there was sufficient evidence to continue the probe of Trump.
    ................
In the years since the Egypt case was closed, the Sisi regime’s ambitions to influence senior U.S. government officials have been laid bare by the bribery conviction of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), the former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Over the course of his presidency, Trump shifted U.S. policy in ways that benefited the Egyptian leader, a man he once called “my favorite dictator.” In 2018, Trump’s State Department released $195 million in military aid that the United States had been withholding over human rights abuses — a move that had been opposed by his first secretary of state — followed by the release of $1.2 billion more in such assistance.

Dimwit Donald has a new policy idea: cancel income taxes (should be popular) and replace the revenue with higher and higher tariffs. Viola! Instant (and dramatic) inflation.

Scaramucci thinks that Trump might quit the race if his poll numbers get low enough. If that happens, he will designate another republican like DeSantis or Haley to take the loss for him. Wouldn't it be funny, if he designated Haley, and she pulled out a win? "That's my win! Those are my votes! I am president, not her! Where's my Proud Boys? I need you to fight for your country now!"

Question for the MAGA fans: is it o.k. to vote for an egotistical con-man who's main motivation to get elected is to get immunity for the crimes he's been committing?
