In the wake of the prior administration’s VA wait-time scandal, a frustrated Congress authorized a temporary program that allowed some veterans to see doctors outside VA. It was called the Veterans Choice Program. The program was limited to veterans who were waiting more than 30 days for an appointment, or those that lived more than 40 miles from a VA facility or faced similar travel burdens.

The program never solved the wait-time problem at VA, and instead, unfortunately created new hurdles for veterans seeking care in the community. In a 2017 report, VA’s Office of Inspector General found veterans had to overcome “several barriers” in order to access care outside VA. These included “cumbersome authorization and scheduling procedures and inadequate provider networks.”

Compare those results to the MISSION Act, which President Trump signed in order to fix these problems. The MISSION Act created the Veterans Community Care program, which is permanent and more comprehensive than the Veterans Choice Program. It allows Veterans to elect to receive care at non-VA facilities when they aren’t close to a VA facility, have to wait too long for VA care, or when it’s in their best medical interest.

That’s a critical difference. The MISSION Act signed by Trump put veterans at the center of their care for the first time in history, allowing them to elect to receive outside expertise when they need it and improving their health outcomes.

Pretty fascinating interview of Fred Trump III basically describes how Donald conspired with others to cut out his dad Fred Trump Jr out of his share of inheritance (who died of complications from alcolholism) and in effect robbed FTIII Of the ability to support his nephew. That plus the other items already reported.

I got sick to the stomach listening to it.

As a parent of a person with an intellectual disability it is helpful to know Donald’s advice is to just let them die.

Trump is so full of empathy. He jokes now about the family of the guy who was shot dead at his Butler rally. He said that someone he knows gave the widow a check for a million dollars. Trump quoted her as saying that she would rather have her husband back. Then the punchline: "A lot of wives wouldn't say that."

 

Based on Trump's history the sauces sources are probably very credible.

 

He won't lose any of his supporters for that.

I don’t know if this is true or not, but the timing is interesting. Write and release a book and then appear on a television show blasting someone running for president. By going public, sure does make you think more people are likely to buy the book. There does appear to be a financial interest in doing this. The book was released on July 30th.

Not saying, I believe, or don’t believe it, but as someone that’s very family oriented, not sure I would throw family members under the bus, even for financial gain.

 

If I had something like Donald Trump in my family, I would see if there was some scientific way to identify which genes we share, then see if it would be possible to remove those genes from my body. If I just kept those genes, there's no telling what they would do to me. One thing for sure, I wouldn't have any offspring. I would choose to be a childless cat man.

 

I’m sure timing has something to do with it. He has been dependent on the family for financial support for his kids medical expenses after the family carved his father out of Fred Srs estate. Now he has the opportunity to capitalize and take care of his kid.

He lists other reasons like not wanting to rock the boat when trying to find his son a group home.

Whatever you conclude about his motivations they are secondary IMO to whether or not the allegations are true.

 

He is not going to lose my vote to a far left from California. Give me someone I can trust and respect. Someone at least close to the middle not another puppet for the socialist liberals.
