Speaking of wedgies, I suffered one of the worst.! Took my wife and young daughter with me on a business trip. Stopped in Atlantic City. Daughter insisted I ride the centrifugal force ride (a big tub that spins and forces you against the sides.).At a certain speed the bottom falls away. You are safely stuck against the side. In my case, my pants didn’t move but I slipped down about 3 inches creating a Brook Bernard quality Wedgie. The ride usually lasts about 2-3 minutes but this was before the season gets busy. Our operator decides to go down to the next ride for a cigarette and talk. I was in my uncomfortable position for at least 10 minutes. Seemed like an hour
Wow! And Skylar crush it on the first pitch of her at bat. Skylar foiled the strategy that she always takes the first strike. And…..Amanda did not waste anytime getting in there to give the “Gator wedgie”!
Except the video shows the count was 0-1 when she hit it. Perhaps she did swing at the first pitch, as Amanda said, but either this was the second pitch or the count on the video is wrong. Edit: Not that it matters but in listening to both Chuck and Amanda, they specifically said it was the second pitch. Amanda meant she swung at the first pitch but got the same pitch the second time and went yard.
I posted in the portal thread about a The Athletic article about the recruitment of Canady and the stupid oil baron money that funded it. Per the article, Canady and her parents were looking for a seven figure NIL deal since her freshman year and it strikes me that in reality Tim never had the slightest interest in getting her. But I left out one other thing in the article I thought interesting. While they spent fool's money on Canady, they went relatively cheap in getting Glasco. According to the article, his salary is $250,000, possibly not including perks and bonuses. That's fairly low level on prime softball salaries. Tim, to my understanding, makes somewhere in the vicinity of $600,000. So, his pitcher makes more than him, more than four times over. Who has to listen to who?
The coach is still the coach. Pretty much every pro sports team has players making more than the coach. In the business world, it’s also very common that a top sales guy makes more than the manager. The title dictates who’s in charge, not the paycheck.
She was fantastic. Her screw was fantastic also. Would be nice if her younger teammates Ava Hodo and Zaelynn Tucker end up gators.
Tucker is class of 2025, Hodo class of 2026. Q&A with Ava Hodo… The No. 1 Player in the 2026 Extra Elite 100 - Extra Inning Softball x.com x.com Zaylen Tucker's High School Softball Stats
I heard a rumor about an increase NCAA D1 scholarships. Has anyone else heard about it. If it’s true, how does it affect Softball?
