and there is no such candidate because they didn't hold a primary. this Biden news isn't new, just the first time he has been exposed without a teleprompter at the right time of day. the decision to force his hand should have happened a long time ago.
The Florida democratic party is especially messed up. Just having dealt with them for a couple years, they are out of step with other state Dem parties in places on even internal stuff and intraparty voting, stuff that should be easy. Like the national party was on the verge of sanctioning the state party and taking away primary delegates because they didnt even have a one man one vote system on certain FDP matters. Maybe they've sorted that out, but I havent been checked in for some time.
It varies by county, some counties have very good operations and some don't. Historically, the power base is the big counties since they have the most votes. Everything went through Miami/Dade basically since they had more votes. When I was involved, I was with the progressives who wanted to move to a system where every county was on equal footing on a one man one vote basis (which is basically how every state did it except FL), as we needed to really improve things in small counties where Trump had ran up the score. Lots of those counties actually have very good orgs and dedicated people and energy to GOTV, but they could be outvoted easily on operational matters that tended to favor the status quo. Lots of older people were really invested in that system and the influence they had in it and didn't want to let it go. Winning and losing didnt make any difference to them since they maintained their status, got to go to the conventions and do all the lame stuff like that. It was very frustrating and anti-democratic. I haven't really kept up, and maybe with Miami/Dade becoming less influential in delivering statewide elections for Democrats there are cracks now. There was a lot of energy after Trump was elected, and they kind of pissed it away. Like everything in this country, it was mainly about people who didnt realize it was time to step down and let others have a crack.
Ron DeSantis Says Florida Supreme Court Should 'Not Have Allowed' Cannabis Legalization Initiative On Ballot (msn.com) Gov. Ron DeSantis told a Florida Sheriffs' Association conference on Tuesday that the state's cannabis legalization initiative, known as Amendment 3, is more sweeping than what the ballot summary indicates and the courts should have kept it off the ballot. "When you read the summary, it doesn't tell you really what the amendment says. That's why it should not have been allowed on the ballot. I mean, the court's job is to not allow things on the ballot if the summary is not an accurate reflection," said DeSantis told the Sheriffs organization, according to the News Service of Florida. ......................... DeSantis also suggested that the amendment would prevent private property owners from regulating marijuana use on their premises, which is false. The amendment allows the Florida Legislature to regulate public use of marijuana, similar to how it manages tobacco and alcohol. New Polling Done By Opponents Of Legalization Amendment Meanwhile, Florida Politics obtained a poll that will be distributed to donors on Wednesday. The poll found support for the ballot initiative still maintains strong majority support. The newly formed “Vote No On 3” campaign, which commissioned the survey, found 64% of likely voters support the initiative, a one percentage point drop since February but still more than enough for passage.
Kamala is turning out to be quite the charismatic public speaker, which surprises the hell out of me. She should be a fine candidate.
Dude just keeps winning. Nothing like unwarrantedly calling yourself a "free state" and then being blocked multiple times for violating the first amendment rights of your citizens.
Come on, guys. Think! It's about having the freedom to stop other people from doing things you don't like. Geez. It's not that hard.

Go watch her speech in Nashville last year the day after your kind of legislature expelled 2 black legislators for speaking out for gun control. Then you can go back to listening to your lord and savior talk about Hannibal Lector and being eaten by sharks.
another day, another anti-woke law passed that the courts will squash but nothing on insurance rates.. Ron DeSantis signs anti-woke law to stop banks from freezing Floridians’ bank accounts based on their politics — but Treasury says the law puts ‘America’s national security at risk’ (msn.com) The law makes it illegal for banks to “deny or cancel, suspend, or terminate its services to a person, or to otherwise discriminate against a person in making available such services” on the basis of several factors, including (but not limited to): The person’s political opinions, speech, or affiliations Any factor if it is not a quantitative, impartial, and risk-based standard, including any such factor related to the person’s business sector The person’s engagement in the lawful manufacture, distribution, sale, purchase, or use of firearms or ammunition The person’s engagement in the exploration, production, utilization, transportation, sale, or manufacture of fossil fuel-based energy, timber, mining, or agriculture It also allows Floridians to appeal “unwarranted account cancellations and restrictions” through a coordinated complaint and investigatory process within the state’s Office of Financial Regulation. This potentially places banks and other financial institutions operating in the Sunshine State between a rock and a hard place. They’re required by federal law to implement U.S. criminal and national security policies — including stringent background checks — but in doing so, they risk breaching Florida’s broad-based anti-discrimination law. The Treasury has openly criticized the new Florida law and any other state laws that bar financial institutions from carrying out necessary risk assessments. In a July letter to lawmakers, obtained by the Wall Street Journal, Treasury Undersecretary Brian Nelson reiterated the importance of banks being able to probe customers in order to prevent money laundering and counter terrorist financing.
