Not only at its best in athletics but Lebron is a dedicated family man who has been in the biggest of spotlights since he was like 15 and has had zero run ins with the law or any scandals. He's a genuinely good dude and because they don't like his politics they want to "send him home" from the Olympics. Tells me all I need to know

They haven’t played the US anthem for the BB gold medal as that hasn’t been awarded yet. They have only played one game and the anthem doesn’t get played for beating Serbia. That clip was from some other game somewhere else posted on X by someone with an agenda.

The contingent that absolutely hates fake news from the media continues to fall victim to fake news on righty social media. Typical.

You would think that the young guys in their primes like Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards would be leading the way while the old vets Lebron, KD, Curry played a supporting role. Just a testament to how great those guys are even in their elder statesmen years.

only looked back few pages but surprised I haven't seen this. for years, Canada women's soccer coach used drones to spy on opponent's practices.

I can see a zealot fan taping an opponent's football practice. especially with the quieter ones being released to the market now. just a matter of time if it isn't happening already

docked 6 points in their Olympics and fired the head coach..big scandal but little news?

Sacked Canada coach Bev Priestman’s drone use regret: “I am devastated” (msn.com)

Canada women’s soccer team is having a tough time making it to the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics. Despite winning the first match against New Zealand (2-1), Canada is down three points due to the spy drone scandal that came to light a few days ago. It involved the use of illegal drones in the training sessions of other teams over a number of years. Canada Soccer took action and fired coach Bev Priestman, but FIFA was much more blunt: a six-point deduction for Paris 2024, one-year ban for Bev Priestman and two other members of the coaching staff and a fine of 200,000 Swiss francs for the Canadian Soccer Association.

The Canadian coach’s response to the scandal and FIFA’s sanction was not long in coming. In a statement, Priestman wanted to apologize to her players and to Canada. “I am absolutely heartbroken for the players. I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart for the impact this situation has had on all of them. As the leader of the team on the field, I want to take accountability and I plan to filly cooperate with the investigation,” she said.

The investigation is ongoing and FIFA's sanction is open to appeal, which the coach is likely to do. "I would like to say more, but I will refrain given the appeal process and the ongoing investigation," she said.

Last week, Canada Soccer CEO & general secretary Kevin Blue revealed that the use of drone to spy on rivals was also attempted by the men’s team during the recently concluded Copa América.

Yeah, it is a huge scandal. Their roster actually includes former Gator and current Leicester City star Deanne Rose. It is a shame for her, but they need to punish this sort of activity.

From the game in which the video supposedly showing him refusing to stand was recorded? It certainly wasn't the Olympics and it's probably a little too late for that since the recording could have been made years ago.

Where were the Russian and Belarus boats in the opening ceremonies ? I saw the Israel boat, so “genocide” can’t be a knockout.

Did Israel launch an unprovoked invasion of Gaza? Just asking. While the Israeli response to October 7, 2023 can be legitimately criticized if Hamas didn't launch the terrorist attack every Palestinian civilian in Gaza that was a victim of the Israeli response would be alive today. If Russia with the support of Belarus didn't launch its invasion of Ukraine every Russian and Ukrainian killed since the invasion would be alive today.

and now IOC overrules the commission and says that hormone tests be damned, let em fight as women

this one is going to get MAGA wound up if either of them fights a usa boxer

Olympic boxers to fight women despite failed testosterone tests (msn.com)

Two boxers who failed testosterone and gender eligibility tests last year have been cleared by the International Olympic Committee to fight in the women’s category in Paris.

Algeria’s Imane Khelif, who competes on Thursday, was disqualified by the International Boxing Association over high testosterone levels before a gold medal bout at the women’s world championships. Taiwan’s double world champion featherweight Lin Yu-ting, scheduled to fight on behalf of Chinese Taipei this Friday, also lost a bronze medal in New Delhi over a “biochemical test for gender eligibility”.

Olympics organising sources had previously told Telegraph Sport there were no known athletes who were “out” as either transgender or with differences of sexual development (DSD) at these games in women’s categories. But Khelif and Lin are now facing intense scrutiny by fairness for women’s sport campaigners after the IOC doubled down on Monday, effectively saying the pair had satisfied its own criteria to compete.

The official Paris 2024 notes on both athletes confirm both had previously been disqualified at other major events. Khelif’s state she was “disqualified just hours before her gold medal showdown against Yang Liu (CHN) at the 2023 World Championships in New Delhi, India after her elevated levels of testosterone failed to meet the eligibility criteria”.

Watching those who are easily offended cite their grievances is a pretty handy way of seeing what THEIR leadership is actually doing.

french food failing the test. quality and quantity..french arrogance???

Olympians called the food in Paris a 'disaster' — and one team is flying in its own chef (msn.com)

Teams, including Great Britain and Germany, have complained that the food at the Olympics wasn't up to par, despite France's reputation as a foodie mecca.

The UK team has had to resort to flying in another private chef to Paris due to a lack of protein and raw meat being served at the Olympic Village, Andy Anson, the CEO of the British Olympic Association, told The Times.

The Paris Olympics are running low on chicken and egg options, and athletes were choosing to eat packed meals prepared at the UK performance lodge, he said.

Several members of Germany's men's hockey team also slammed the Paris 2024 cuisine, with one calling it "a disaster," dpa reports.

I think Snoop Dogg has been a pleasant surprise in the Olympics coverage. He’s been humorous in his interviews and also has been friendly to his fans as he walks around.

Last night they put a sportscaster jacket on him and had him do the recap of the day. It was humorous, but then they showed a clip of him holding the American flag to his chest and tearing up as the American anthem was being played after a swim race. He got embarrassed as they showed that, but got a little choked up, describing how hearing the anthem makes him feel.

I like Snoop but it's crazy to think he realistically could be in jail right now on murder charges from 30 years ago. But he's a super likable guy and I definitely like him at the Olympics

Seems rather humorous to hear Brits complaining about French food. Has to be a first.

Not surprised. His father is a Vietnam war veteran and he always talks about how proud he is that his dad fought for the country.
