You really think Google is hiding stories about it?

I tried it myself and got the same result
    What would explain this?
It's not like Google doesn't manipulate results.

River, go try to google it yourself. I'm not a conspiracy nut guy, but this is embarrassing for Google. This was done on purpose by google. No other way to explain it. And the AI crap is dumb. This just makes people in the middle not trust what is supposed to be a neutral search engine that much more.

When I use google to find this story, they push me towards Truman rather than Trump. There may be a valid reason for that, perhaps the millions more stories over many more years about Truman's assassination attempt cause the algorithm to go there first. But it isn't a good look for Google, especially when they are trying to position themselves as a neutral search engine.

When I have typed out "assassination attempt on", I get suggestions for Truman, Reagan, Ronald Reagan, Lenin, Gerald Ford, Franklin Roosevelt, Andrew Johnson, FDR, Seward, and John Paul II. When I get to "assassination attempt on T", the list drops down to truman and the pope. If they had room for ten results before, why only two now? Not a good look for Google, even if they aren't putting their thumb on the scale, it sure looks like they are.

It's a joke. Google did it on purpose. No other way to explain it. It makes it look worse than it is by them actively trying to hide it.

Google says it's because autocomplete is set to prevent searches involving political violence which is why it wasn't filling in Trump's name.

Also, who cares? If someone is searching for information about the attempt on Trump, are they going to forget partway through that they were going to search for Trump's name? If you did the hard work in typing out "assassination" then you can manage to type "Trump" as well. You still get the relevant results.

People want so badly to be outraged about something that they don't even think about why they're even mad.

Is Google blocking Donald Trump assassination attempt? What we know

Sorry, but that is complete BS. The whole "we're working on improvements" is their cover story. Please tell me you aren't falling for the banana in the tailpipe on this.

What a nasty, gaping bullet hole. I don’t know how he survived such a grave wound.

Are you unable to find information about the assassination attempt on Trump on Google? Do you think people will just give up halfway through their search because it doesn't autocomplete? This whole thing is stupid. It makes no practical difference..

Then why suppress it? Agree it's stupid. Stupid that Google is suppressing it. If it makes no difference why do it? Google already backpedaling on the issue saying "working on improvements". They got caught doing something dumb.

This isn't a conspiracy. Google flat out is trying to suppress the story by eliminating the autofill. Just dumb. What it does do is make people lose trust. Don't even know how this is a debate, this is cut and dry them being stupid.

Go Google assassination and Biden or assassination and Harris and tell me if it autofills.

Then go read what @mikemcd810 posted

There wasn't an assassination attempt on Biden or Harris. Is this so hard to grasp?

Yeah no shit. Google automatically blocks the autofill on those combinations too. That's the point. Anway I forget how unwilling you are to admit even the slightest chance you are wrong. So enjoy your conspiracy theories. I'm out

Sure, I'd say "i'm out" too if I was wrong LOL. Enjoy thinking google isn't trying to suppress anything...

At least Google doesn't give off the vibe that they are leaning to 1 side or the other...

Already stated. If anyone is seriously interested in Googling information on the assassination of Trump the most logical search criterion would simply be "assassination attempt on (or of) Trump". Conspiracy addicts will find conspiracies.
