IIRC it is also where the oil is. Dave Eggers wrote a great book called What is the What that is worth reading.
Went down from there, but Bron bron took over late and sealed a 4 point win. Chum in the water now for sure.
This team will go as far as LeBron can carry them. Also, curry should not be in the game late, he was a liability last night.
LeBron James makes $3 billion dollars a day. Why does he get to carry the flag for the USA Olympics team? I'd rather see it carried in by that guy or gal that works at 3 jobs but still is at the top of their chosen sport. Alas, NBC only views the Olympics as an advertising money juggernaut and wants its biggest stars out front.
I’m not a LeBron fan but I get why they voted him. He’s a legit guy for it with his accomplishments. Gauff I like but don’t get that at all. Many other more deserving folks on the women’s side.
I watched all the practice games. USA looked good in defeating Serbia and the Joker, which I think was the only game they played as intensely as if it was a real game. Curry was at his amazing shooting/scoring best in that game, but a lot of the team looked good in that game. South Sudan had some good looking, tall players who could shoot threes (like they had several Naz Reids playing for them). And they shot them very well in that game. That helped make it a close game. LeBron came up big late in the game to help win it. As he did in the last game against Germany. I'll be interested to see how much Embiid plays versus Anthony Davis. I appreciate Embiid playing for us, but I don't think he looked very good in the practice games. On the other hand, Davis has been awesome/dominant, particularly on the defensive end. I think he's actually the best defensive player in the NBA, not Jobert. I think the USA will ratchet up the effort and level of play when the real games start, but we shall see. I still view them as heavy favorites (duh ) after watching all the very competitive practice games, but with all the NBA players on other Olympic teams now, nothing is a given.
Watched a bit of the Canada win over Greece yesterday since both teams had former Gator players, Nembhard and Calathes. Neither had big games, but quite an accomplishment just to make an Olympic team especially at their respective ages.
KD looked pretty good today in a 110-84 win over serbia, 23 pts as he and Lebron, 21 pts, led the way. .
