Any big-time Olympics fans? Any THFSG posters in Paris? Hopefully US can hold off China for most golds. That was a big deal in 2021 when we beat them by 1 gold in total count. We should easily win most overall. USA Projections: 39 golds, 32 silvers, 41 bronzes for 112 total medals China Projections: 34 golds, 27 silvers, 25 bronzes for 86 total medals Great Britain Projections: 17 golds, 20 silvers, 26 bronzes for 63 total medals Olympics Predictions 2024: Projecting Final Medal Table for USA and Top Nations Olympics schedule 2024: Day-by-day TV coverage to watch Paris Games on NBC channels, stream online | Sporting News
I like the olympics. But as I have gotten older it is not a must tune in. That said. Will definitely be following. USA!
I read a while back that China’s government pumps a bunch of money into a program where they recruit and train and try to dominate the small, less popular, individual sports to pad their metal count. Winning the medal count is apparently very important to them.
Opening ceremony highlighted a bisexual 3 some… lol… wonder if it gets edited out in when America rebroadcasts
Wasn’t it if US won the sport on your card, you won BigMac for gold, fries for silver, drink for bronze.
yeah, but it was for the 1984 bgames, you know, the one's the soviet block boycotted. remember alot of big macs then
I really like the Summer Olympics. Finke coming from behind to win his races. Dressel, of course. You've got to love Ledecky. But track is my favorite. The 400 hurdles final ... wow. When the silver medalist breaks the world record by half a second, you know you had a race.
The video of LeBron holding the flag in the rain on the bow of the boat was very Washington Crossing the Deleware vibes. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/Ev6wWbDybm
Don't usually watch the opening ceremonies but thought the French did a good job. Especially liked the metal horse and rider galloping down the Seine. Very cool, even in the rain.
I'll be watching gymnastics, some track and field events (mostly the faster speed stuff), volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Nothing else interests me that much.
Swimming and sprints/relays are hard to beat. I don’t fancy myself a “nationalist” but I get all sorts of fired up when the USA is bossing ass.

Yea was wondering where Paris was gonna hold the surfing championships. Then I saw the cut in to Tahiti. (French Polynesia)
Rough opening. Paris the city looked gorgeous. Dancing sucked. Production looked amateurish. I mean… how do you give Lady Gaga a bad song to sing?
