GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Light will have a Gator presence for 2024 Summer Olympics competition.

It's an all-time high of 40 Gators in the 2024 Summer Olympic contingency.
In addition, five Gator coaches are in Paris, with one competing for the U.S.
Florida stands No. 4 among the nation's collegiate programs.
    (Stanford 51, USC 44, Michigan 42)
There were 39 Gators at the 2008 Beijing Games and 35 in 2020.

I especially liked Katie Ledecky wearing her Gators swim cap in the qualifying rounds.

Lives in G'ville and her coach is our mens and womens swim coach. Although she went to school out west, Stanford I think.
She trains at the pool at UF regularly.

Since when did 10 laps around the VW beetle in a clown outfit become an Olympic sport?

Our women just won the bronze in rugby over the Aussies with only seconds to score.
    Incredible comeback.

Honorary Gator Katie Ledecky is a 1500 meter machine and wins pure GOLD with another Olympic record.
    - She now ties for the most GOLD medals for an American woman with 8.
    - The USA has only 5 gold medals but two are from Gators (new & older).
