I think this crap is more a sign of Trump's grade school bully tactics than his racism. He's insulted the names of every political opponent he's had, regardless of their background. If anything, this behavior shows him being quite egalitarian, as he's equally an ass to anyone and everyone. Still, not exactly something to celebrate in a POTUS candidate.

No doubt, Trump won't be able to contain his racism and misogyny during this campaign. During White House press conferences, he frequently derided the journalists who were black women. But, he also can't contain himself as a schoolyard bully. He always labels his opponents with juvenile nicknames. Having a silly Trump nickname should be a badge of honor. More concerning is the fact that Trumps use of dehumanizing language ("vermin", "animals who infest", "poisoning the blood of our country") to turn people into "others", who he can blame for all our problems, is straight out of the authoritarian playbook.
