    12 years?
    Multiple women?

    Serial.

I mean unless you think Monica was the only one he lied about, in which case I can't help ya. ;)

Now...AGAIN...i am not saying that I equate the two. I am saying people will often ASSUME that all politicians are basically the same cheating, lying, self serving scoundrels that many are and will simply vote their side of the issues because of it.

They separate the issues from the person, much like Clinton voters (to a lesser degree) had to do.

My ONLY point is there is a difference between an issues based Trump voter and monster truck driving, hang the flag upside down "Trumper".

Clinton has no less than 8 women that claim to have extra marital relations. Four consensual and four others claiming assault.

We know he is willing to lie under oath.
We know multiple women claimed it before he was elected and reelected, yet many still voted for him.

I don't say this to equate him and Trump in my eyes, I am just rebutting this idea that the voters were unaware.

He was a lying cheater before he was POTUS and the news was out there.

Knowing this fact (and it is a fact) many people on both sides will vote on issues only and ignore the low lifes that are running.

Now the Trump parade boat crowd are a different breed, but most Trump voters arent that guy.

Lol, I get it. You guys are trying to rile me up by arguing without facts. I'm not going to indulge you anymore. :)

But if you want to get technical, a SINGLE woman does not make multiple. (In case you don't recall that we were discussing in 1996.)

And no a SINGLE affair (GF) and a SINGLE accusation (PJ) sounds more like much of America than a "serial adulterer."

That kind of speech by an elected representative and political thought leader is a nudge. How many nudges will it take to get to the tipping point?

It’s pretty terrifying that something like that isn’t all over the news, but at least this nudge isn’t getting too much attention to fire up radicals. Imagine if someone said we should start a civil war at a Palin rally if McCain didn’t win. It would be story 2a behind the Kamala appointment.

While I keeping saying I am a moderate, I read an article last night that more correctly labeled me as a “double hater” (along with 25% of the country). I was deeply unhappy with the choice between Trump v. aged Biden, but incidents like this and Jan 6 are the reason I will vote for whoever is running against Trump.

Totally a double hater too. I wanted Haley or even DeSantis and I'll never forgive the fools and traitors who gave us Trump instead.

It’s not all over the news because it’s not news anymore. These right wing dumb shits talk about civil war all the time. This is the Trump effect. The new normal.

I agree to an extent especially it becoming the new normal. It certainly isn’t shocking or breaking news (which in itself is remarkable and disturbing). I do think this specific incident deserves more national spotlight. This was not the proud boys or a very radical element of MAGA or even a mainstream politician turning a blind eye towards Jan 6th. It was at one of Vance’s first rallies and he is now the future of MAGA. It came from an elected official. It was a specific call to future violence. It just should not be accepted as the new normal.

I’d add, just based on conversations with family members and friends, they believe that Trump is the only one that speaks for the working man and represents the working man. Granted, I truly don’t understand how anyone would be duped into believing Trump cares about them — he cares only for himself and his ego— but that is the sincere, deeply embedded belief of many people, and this will not change no matter how much “evidence” or reason that is put forth to convince them of their folly.

I’m a huge Bill Clinton fan. He was blessed with such incredible charisma that when he walked into a room, everyone listened. He was able to cross the aisle on lots of occasions, and I thought he was a very good President.

Having said that, you’d have to be someone intentionally blind and deaf to not believe he was an adulterer.

And Monica... while later on, proved who he was. He showed us way before that, but we had final proof then. Then he was what he was.

    A lying cheat

...but you're a team player which sorta proves my point. Even most of the liberals here readily admit that they knew what they were voting for...and thats OK. Everyone has done it, including me in 2016.

I am not a "big" fan, but agree with much of your post. He was a good POTUS. (Things I disagree with notwithstanding)

It’s also the fear of perhaps not being the majority anymore. Not racist per se but feeling that what they perceive to be their “rightful place” is being threatened. I have friends and family members that feel the same way.

Hard to continue this discussion without insulting you. Or minimally referencing your inability to either comprehend or follow the discussion.

The original point was : in 96, when votes were cast, there really was no known and accepted evidence that Clinton was a "serial adulterer." Solely that he had admitted to having been unfaithful. There IS a difference.

Reread that paragraph as needed. Then you'll avoid silliness like referencing Lewinsky in the conversation.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment that you have addressed here and that is why I have never voted for Trump. However, I find it dishonest when Democrats (not you, but in general) criticize Trump’s adultery when they accepted Bubba Clinton’s adultery.

Yes, there were some prominent Democrats who publicly criticized Clinton at the time, but they stopped short of saying that made him unfit to continue as president. I don’t recall the Democratic Party as a whole repudiating Clinton, and I do recall him getting thunderous applause at Hillary’s coronation.

You are correct, you won and schooled all of us Trump praisers. Clinton repeatedly cheating on his wife for 12 years doesn’t count. The nation didn’t see and hear him say that on 60 minutes. The board-certified psychiatrist specializing in infidelity in the link I provided needs to have his license revoked. I’ll be sure to let my wife know that if she sleeps with someone else for 12 years, we discuss it on 60 minutes and a separate person files a public lawsuit about their sexual relations (that the whole world knows about) she isn’t a “serial adulterer” that she has just been “unfaithful”.

    You win, I give up.

I clearly mentioned Monica happened after 1996. Did you miss that part???

I am saying that his lying about her likely means he lied about the others which means he was indeed a serial adulterer before 1996.And had multiple accusations well before then. Flowers and Jones were well known long before 1996. People in Arkansas knew the rumors before most of us had heard of the dude.

His wife then went all un-metoo in trying to silence his victims.

You voted for a sleeze bag. It's ok to admit. I did it myself in 2016 and completely regret it.

I should not have and never will again.

Its one of the things I deeply respect about the Obama's. They seem to genuinely love each other and value their marriage.

Not long ago, I read an article that quoted a professor from a Christian college, who said that Trump was the first politician to successively divorce character from policies. Most of the people who vote for Trump aren’t voting because they like the guy personally. They’re voting because they like His policies.

The professor also said that Trump is the only one that they perceive as listening to them. He said he doesn’t know if Trump really cares for them, but he at least acts like he’s listening.

We need to keep in mind that the election in November is not a plebiscite on Trump. It is an election in which one of the two major parties will win.
Many of the Trump supporters are voting against the policies of the Democrats. They see the Democrats as leading the country down the wrong path.

Who are these people going to vote for? The Democrats publicly call them deplorable. Only one side gives them respect.

What's cute about Clinton is that people think the man that admitted to affairs in Arkansas and lied under oath about Monica was just railroaded all those other times.
The guy that cheated multiple times and lied to cover it up under oath, was telling the truth all those other times.

Monica was a thin layer of icing on a 20 layer cake.
