Back in the day someone (I forget who) used Willie Horton as an issue. Trump will use Willie Brown. Of course he may dog whistle it, like "She really gives me the willies."
She gots to kiss the ring, and communicate in no uncertain terms, her unyielding fealty to the don (no pun intended). Once he believes she'll be a proper puppet (avatar, proxy, tske your pick...), then he will yield his blessing, and direct his formidable Chicom backed resources to prop her up and propel her to victory.
What in the hillbilly hell did he just say??? Damn son...a lil' more Gentlemen Jack, a lot less Jack Daniels there JD... c'mon man...
If republicans were smart, they would go all out and offer more support for LBGT and legalizing marijuana. It would be a slam dunk. They are going backwards.
I keep thinking if she picked a woman ( Whitney) would be a powerful statement and help inject much needed enthusiasm. Dems might need that risky play to catch up.
I'm pretty surprised at the initial enthusiasm....remains to be seen how she maintains the momentum of the first 24 hours of course. But it's plausible she actually increases enthusiasm given her energy level and presence compared to what Biden has provided the last few months. Given that, I wouldn't double down with another woman on the ticket, I think you have a better chance of drawing in the center (peope like me and you) with a Mark Kelly/Beshear/Shapiro type VP. IMO she will already get the votes of most people excited by a 2 woman ticket...so that doesn't move the needle. I think the apathy/lack of voter turnout concerns regarding Biden are gone with Biden, Trump and Vance will be in attack mode and that will surely incite voter interest on both sides. Use the VP to win more of the middle, or a specific state ala Pennsylvania
She better come out fast as this is her shot. If she fails she will be religated to some ambassadorship next time a Dem occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave
J.D. Vance has said some pretty heinous stuff in the past too. We'll see how much they lean into misogyny. https://thehill.com/opinion/campaig...-long-history-of-regulating-who-counts-as-an/
I don’t know if Harris is infertile or not, but dismissing infertile woman as useless objects is straight out of the handmaid’s tail…
While that person is an idiot it doesn’t say they are useless, just that they shouldn’t be able to make decisions for your children. It’s a shitty take but about the same as those who suggest men shouldn’t make laws regarding abortion because they don’t have a uterus.
Not the same. Men have kids too. And plenty of men never had children. Including five Presidents; James Polk, Warren Harding, James Buchanan, Andrew Jackson, and George Washington. They all had zero biological children, like Kamala Harris. And they made decisions that impacted other people's children. But unlike Harris, these men could never get pregnant, because they were male.
That takes the case as one of the most vapid arguments I have ever seen. Is that spelled out in the constitution as one of the criteria for potus?
