Small dollar donors gave Harris $46.7 million yesterday. A single day record. What's this about disregarding the peons again?
Gerald Ford declined Reagan's invite to be VP--"the Party" did not reject him. In fact, the Party was probably salivating at the idea of having a former POTUS on deck. Ford had already been VP (under Nixon) AND POTUS after RN resigned--hence there concerns of a 'co-POTUS' prompted him to decline the invite. George HW Bush was a natural second pick because he polled higher than any other choices, brought Texas with him, and had lots of Federal connections through his work with the CIA (also as a moderate, he offered balance). I'll echo Aging here, and request some authority to backing your assertion. I've never heard anyone say HW was forced upon RR.
Must be a Dem record, because Trump raised $53 million in a single day after Doh! Biden's efforts to deploy the criminal justice system against him proved successful--and thereby scared the ever loving shit out of the nation. Trump Announces Nearly $53 Million Fund-Raising Haul After Guilty Verdict. (and last I checked, $53 million > $47 million). ....as for "small dollar donations"--not convinced that means a popular ground swell, since Obama championed the laundering system of taking chinese money, and filtering it through orgs, such that a million dollar bribe (er, *donation*) looks like it came from 100,000 *phantoms*, believed to be 'individual voters'.
I get it, you guys now want to change the "too old line" when your guy is now front and center as the bumbling, senile one, not to mention being a convicted felon, serial misogynist, i.e., basically a criminal in all aspects of his life. Too bad you didnt move on to a better candidate when you had the chance, but here we are. Talk about hypocrisy.
Man, all you do is lie. Well, occasionally rant and sometimes name call. Then return to lying. Biden "deployed" the criminal justice system in NYC? Whatever you say man. This site needs to have a button to hit for lies.
He was the worst president in the history of our country, but he did tweet more and watch more television than any president in the history of the United States. regardless, he has a very good chance of winning. That does not speak well for the voters in this country. Obviously, there are legitimate issues that need to be dealt with at the highest administrative level, but voting for Trump is not the answer.
You guys? My team isn't represented by Trump or whomever the Dems nominate. Two sides of the same coin, personally I am enjoying this banter over superficial rhetoric on who's side is less f'd up. I personally would like to see the two party system be dissolved, as do most of the younger folks I've talked to. Everything that is happening is because of donors on both sides. It's all about $, and the regular folks are getting screwed.
Doesn't matter. Stop floating the party line. The DNC has lied to you about your president and potential candidate. They don't give two sh**s about you. The same can be said about the RNC and Trump. Trump donated to Kamala's campaign before he ran for president. It's all a scam. Notice both sides point fingers toward each other? Yet you are paying taxes for shit you didn't vote for a long with inflation. Your money is being used to fund killing overseas. Your backyard is being given away to corporations and foreign investors. WTF has either party done for anyone lately other than throw $ out for votes when shit hits the fan? Vote them both out and open your mind. Neither is worth a vote, both sides are only doing so because they hate the other.
Okay, when you dissolve the GOP and DNC organizations, what do you submit as the process for selecting potus and Congress? Further, what do propose to preclude another 2-party system from developing in their place?
Well, this was completely the fault of the Democratic Party. I agree with you that there should have been open primaries. Viable candidates such as RFK, Jr. should have been allowed to compete. The party covered for Joe’s mental decline way before the primaries began in an attempt to hold onto power at all costs rather than do what was best for the American people. Now where does that leave us? Well, due to our election laws, the party is almost forced into nominating Kamala Harris at this late stage. I agree with Obama in that an open mini primary, while maybe not feasible at this late date, would result in the best candidate to nominate and give us an alternate to Donald Trump. I’m sorry, most of you will disagree, but Harris is not the best the Dems could offer us.
