It was a truly patriotic move for him to do this. IMHO this cements his legacy. Saved us once, and did an admirable job. Might save us twice, and if not, he tried.

If you want to actually go educate yourself, look up how many business have filed for bankruptcies (highest levels since 2010), rise in unemployment trend, rise in weekly initial jobless claims and continuing claims, all jobs added being part time while shedding millions of full time jobs, credit card delinquencies quickly rising, auto loan delinquencies surpassed a 13 year high, all the while savings rate is approaching levels seen before the 2007 crash. If jobless claims start to hit 265k a week, it will likely start to escalate from there.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Networks going hard on Harris due to the Biden “backing”. But it’s not that simple. Who knows what’s gonna happen at the Convention. I’d wager if it had been an open primary (Biden not running) Harris would have been a distant 3rd.

Chapter 7 Business bankruptcies were higher this year than the last three years, highest numbers since 2020. The Trump years were about a third of 2010, the Biden years have been a quarter of the 2010 numbers. Chapter 11 Business bankruptcies are higher this year than any year since 2013. The last two years were lower than any time in the range that this tool provides data for (2008-2024). The 217 Chapter 15 bankruptcies in the past year are the highest any time in the range this tool provides. In 2010 there were only 131 Chapter bankruptcies filed for by businesses.
